XXVII. Christmas in Mortal World

Jace, our son Von, and I arrived in the mortal world to celebrate Christmas. Sa mundo ng mahika, there's no Christmas, so we decided to return here to experience the joy of the holiday season once again.

As we walked through the city streets, I couldn't help but reminisce about the times when Jace and I were still mortals. The Christmas breeze, the people bustling with holiday preparations, the children playing in the streets - all of these brought me a sense of joy and nostalgia.

We checked into a hotel before deciding to explore the city. Since it was only the 24th, we had to wait until midnight to welcome Christmas.

As we strolled, buhat-buhat ko si Von, while Jace is helding my waist. I noticed the twinkling lights adorning the trees and houses. I saw people busy with their shopping, children playing in the streets, and stores filled with gifts and Christmas decorations.

"Jace, look," I said, pointing to a group of children singing carols. "Do you remember when we were kids and we used to do that too?" Nangangaroling kasi kaming mga bata dati sa mga kapit-bahay namin, na alam naming makapagbibigay talaga ng pera sa amin.

He looked at me, and I saw the joy in his eyes. "I'll never forget those times."

The sights and sounds of the holiday season in the mortal world brought back vivid memories for me, stirring a deep sense of longing and fondness.

We stepped into a lavish restaurant, welcomed by staff dressed in festive Christmas costumes. The interior of the restaurant was beautifully decorated, with twinkling lights casting a warm glow on the polished wood and elegant furnishings. A large Christmas tree stood in the corner, adorned with shimmering ornaments and a bright star on top. The air was filled with the enticing aroma of delicious food and the soft hum of holiday music.

We ordered traditional Christmas dishes and a cake for dessert. The staff provided a baby chair for Von, ensuring we could enjoy our meal comfortably. I smiled at the staff member in appreciation.

Turning to Jace, I noticed a frown on his face. "What's wrong?" I asked, concerned.

"Nothing," he replied, but I knew better. Jace had always been a bit jealous, especially when other men were around.

To his surprise, I leaned in and planted a kiss on his lips, catching him off guard. "Is that enough?" I teased.

"No," he responded, pulling me in for a longer, more passionate kiss. I lost myself in the moment, not caring that we were in a restaurant. After all, we were in a private room, away from prying eyes.

As we pulled away, I couldn't help but tease him further. "Are you still jealous?" I asked, a playful smile on my face.

He chuckled, wrapping an arm around my waist. "Maybe a little," he admitted, "But I think I'll survive." We spent the rest of hour enjoying our meal.

Suddenly, we feel a faint of aura around. Pero hindi ko ma-pinpoint kung saan iyon nagmumula. Kaagad kong kinarga si Von, I felt unease.

Naunang lumabas si Jace sa pinto, monitoring people's move.
