Luka's training was vigorous, grueling, and mostly unbearable, but he was becoming a master of his craft. He had learned to control his telekinesis; he was training in telepathy, and they discovered he had a special ability from the fracture. He could teleport without portal system. The downfall was he could only teleport to places he knew, so he was limited if he decided to run, but he was severely punished for using it. He also felt energy. He could feel how people were feeling just by being near them. He was still a sensitive boy, something they were trying to remove from him. He felt like he was doing well. He was about six and a half years old when Papa finally decided to bring him another level down in the basement. Everything looked the same from the other level he came from, but the energy was different. It was chaotic.
Papa held is hand as they walked down the hall. Luka noticed there were more doctors down there. One's he hadn't seen before. He kept looking behind as he walked with Papa, as he watched Carruthers following in tow. His eyes glancing down at Luka as a small smile crawled across his face. Luka turned back around and held Papa's hand a little tighter. Luka started to hear voices. Lots of them. They walked to the end of the hall as they stood at a door. Papa scanned his card and they door unlocked. Papa pulled the door open as Luka followed him inside. Luka stood shocked. There were more like him there. All in hospital gowns and shaved heads. They were speaking to each other, smiling, laughing, and playing games. Papa gazed down at Luka with a smile on his face. "Don't be afraid. They are like you. But you are special." Papa stated.
Carruthers walked around the two as he clapped his hands together once. "Good morning students. I need you all to line up." Carruthers spoke to the children as they all started to line up. Luka always noticed how Carruthers was always so nice when Papa was around. The children looked at Papa, there was no acknowledgement of the boy with him. "Good morning students." He spoke. The children all chimed. "Good morning Dr. Malcolmson." Papa smiled. "We have a new student here and he needs help getting more acclimated to a social setting. I would like you to teach him how to play the games down here." Papa stated. He looked at Luka. "During your time in here, you are able to speak freely, but only in here." Papa said as Luka nodded. He had nothing to say. "Go on and play children." Papa spoke as he let go of Luka's hand.
Luka stood frozen, unsure what to do. He didn't know how to play. Papa noticed the boy's uneasiness. "Billy, would you come here and take Luka to play the game with you?" Papa stated a boy about the same size as Luka got up and came over to him. "Come on." Billy said as he put his hand out. Luka took his hand and went with the boy. He turned and looked at Papa as he took his suitcoat off and grabbed a clipboard and started to go around the room, documenting the interactions between the children and what they were accomplishing. Billy and Luka sat down at a few puzzles. Billy started to put the puzzle cube together as Luka watched. "Here." Billy said as he put another one down in front of Luka. Luka looked at it. Billy leaned over. "You need to play, or there will be consequences." Billy whispered to Luka. Luka looked around the room and spotted Papa as he watched another student. Luka turned back to Billy. He picked up the toy and started to pull it apart.
