Rory Gretzky woke, covered in green goo. His body not feeling like it should. He felt clear headed for the first time in many years, as if he could think on his own. There wasn't an echo of a voice in the back of his head. He sat up and started to look around the large, unfamiliar medical bay. He looked down at his hands and body, feeling as if he wasn't himself. He was unaware of the other men in the room. He took his time and slowly started to stand up from the medical table as Dr. Isaac grabbed a hold of him for support, waking him out of his confused stupor.
Rory looked at him. "Where the fuck am I?" He asked in a deep, British accent as he looked around the area again. He heard the movement from the corner as he looked over and saw a man in a well-tailored suit getting up from a chair. He held a folder in his hand as he walked over to him. "Welcome to Sector 24, you have been chosen to join the team." Jensen stated as Rory kept his eyes on him. He didn't know what was going on. His mind ran circles as he tried to fathom what his last move was and how he got to where he was now. He tried to make sense of his surroundings, but everything was new to him and the confusion kept spinning in his mind. "What the hell are you talking about? Is this some kind of fucking joke? Piss off! I know this is Tevnoling." He spat at him.
Jensen gave him a small closed lip smile as he kept his eyes on him. He knew he was confused. He knew the effects of the black goo and what it does to a person and to have it taken out. Jensen needed to know everything if he was going to run a band a misfits in the facility. Jensen walked closer to Rory, his hands behind his back as he studied his face. "Tell me Gretzky, what is the last thing you remember?" Jensen asked. His smirk painted on his face. Rory's mind turning circles again as he tried to remember. His memories were a mess, nothing but fragments. The parasite gone from the host, taking years of memories with it and leaving Rory with fragments to piece back together. He was struggling to remember, but the last memory that made sense to him was a large man standing over him after his entire village was destroyed. A man made of flesh and metal, a red glowing right eye. He forced a black drink down his throat that burned. It was his last full memory.
Jensen could see the man struggling in front of him. "Let me help you remember. You were in Tevnoling, battling it out against several men in the pit fights. It was a special livestream. Several men in and only one to come out. As the reigning champion, you couldn't let the others win. You were doing well until you went up against my guy. Novak killed you, with almost too much ease. You see, I set the whole fight up. I do what the Higher Authority tells me to do, and if they want something. They are going to get it. I will stop at nothing to get them what they want. I have the money and the resources. They wanted you, so I sent my own super soldier. You are Sector 24 property now." Jensen explained.
Rory was having a hard enough time trying to even remember what had happened, and now he had this thrown on top of the pile, but a memory slipped through. A man in a mask above him, waiting for the signal from the Warden. He felt his anger soar, he was furious that someone could beat him. "This Novak...Is he here?" Rory asked as he looked at Jensen. "Let's get you cleaned up and then you can meet face to face." Jensen spoke as he turned to leave so that Dr. Isaac could finished his work.
