Description: Pat is in love with captain, he knows captain is gay however he darent tell captain out loud because the other ghosts could hear... so he enlists some help from Alison

I really love writing for PatCap, and honestly, I think this is the first time I've written a one shot where pat is the one to say something first!

I just rewatched the Christmas episode, and I adore the dynamic between Pat and Captain, they've both grown so much as characters and I am so happy about that!

I love the ' it was Patrick !' Bit when Alison told them off, and how proud pat looks when captain can finally do baby talk!

Pat was sat in his room, staring at the wall, he had no idea what to do, see, he had developed feelings for captain... normally this wouldn't scare him... this much, but he had no idea how to tell captain, he knew captain was gay, and even had an inkling that perhaps captain felt the same way, however, captain was in the closet... so if he told captain, no doubt, at least one ghost would hear, it wouldn't be too bad if it was Humphrey, or MAYBE Fanny, but the rest, they would tell everyone!

So pat sat in his room, fiddling with the bottom of his shorts, trying to think.

That's when he had an idea! All he needed to do was ask Alison for help, she wouldn't tell anyone... well maybe Mike but he can't see or hear the ghosts so it's not bad if he knows.

Pat got up, feeling more optimistic, he rushed around the house to find Alison, eventually finding her in her room. Good now there will be no ghosts due to the rule.

'Knock knock!' He Called through the door that was shut, he heard her shout permission to enter the room, so walked through the door.

' oh! Pat, what can I do for you?' She asked, whilst folding laundry.

'Uhm... I know us ghosts... ask a lot of you, and I know you're pregnant, and you can say no if you'd like... but could I ask for a little bit of help with something?' He rambled

' no, it's alright pat, honestly I don't mind, what do you need help with?' She asked with a smile, now paying more attention to what he was saying.

' uhm well... you see... I need to tell captain something... important, but I CANT let the others hear... like it would be really bad if they heard' he said, fiddling with his shorts whilst saying this, clearly a nerve response of his.

' oh.... So you need me to distract the ghosts? That should be easy enough... do you mind me asking what you need to tell him? Just out of interest' she said, speaking quietly in case the others heard

' well.. ok, so long as you don't tell the others', to this she nodded, ' well... I have... feelings for the captain... and I feel I need to tell him, but I can't let the others hear... because you know... '

' captains still in the closet?'

' yeah...'

' alright pat, I can go round them up now if you'd like, I've nothing else to do' Alison smiled

' n-now? Oh-... uh yeah, that would be great Alison! If it's not too much trouble of course!'

' not at all pat. I hope he returns your feelings you know? I think you'd be very sweet together' Alison smiled before turning the corner and shouting the ghosts.

Meanwhile pat quickly rushed around the house to find captain, eventually finding him outside, doing a patrol, he ran up to the army man and walked next to him.

' GOOD LORD- Oh Patrick, hello' captain said, having jumped when pat ran up to him.

' hello... uhm... could I speak with you cap?' Pat asked nervously.

Captain gave him a suspicious look, before stopping in his tracks and turning to look at pat, ' you may... but make it quick, I have to do my rounds, especially will the baby on the way, don't want another break in, now do we?'

'Yeah! Yeah... of course... I just... uhm... I wanted to tell you... uhm'

' come on spit it out man!'

' I LIKE YOU!' Pat blurted before putting his hand over his mouth.

Captain spluttered, incredibly flustered by pats out burst.

' uhm... yeah... I like you cap... I think as more than a friend... I needed to tell you... I regret things I missed out on and neglected in life... I couldn't do it again...' pat said, looking at the floor.

' o-oh... w-well! Uhm, that's very... that's very decent of you to tell me Patrick... I... uhm.. I believe I feel the same way about you, I have for a while now' captain stuttered over his words, almost as if he was worried that pat was going to laugh and say it was a joke, but he didn't.

Instead pat smiled, ' really? That's... well... that's amazing Cap! I uhm...'

' yes... I- ... I suppose it is patr- Pat.'

The two shared a smile before pat gently took caps hand in his, they would take this slow... or at the pace cap felt comfortable with, and they were both ok with that.

I really hope you enjoyed this, and it's what you wanted! I quite enjoyed writing this, as I've said before, I struggle writing pats character, but I think this was a bit more in character than normal.
