Kanina pa nakakunot ang noo ko habang nakatingin kina Nicko at Sofia. Ang tagal nilang mag-usap. Parang hindi matapos-tapos ang pinag-uusapan nilang dalawa.
Inis kong kinagat ang mansanas na hawak ko habang nakatingin sa kanila. Nasa desk kasi sila habang ako ay nasa couch na nandito sa office niya. Napataas ang isang kilay ko nung ngumiti pa sila sa isa't-isa.
"Nicko! I thought we will go home early today?!" inis na sabi ko.
At sabay pa talaga silang lumingon sa akin.
"Yes. I'm almost done here," sagot niya.
"But I'm already hungry."
His brows furrowed. "You have been eating since lunch, and you have a bowl of fruits in front of you."
Napatingin ako sa tinutukoy niya. Nagpakuha kasi ako ng fruits kanina sa secretary niya dahil natakam ako bigla at gustong kumain ng prutas.
"Well, these are not enough to satisfy my appetite. If you don't want to go home then I will go by myself," sabi ko saka agad na tumayo. I picked up my purse saka naglakad palabas ng office niya.
"Amore, wait! Alright, I'm coming!"
Dire-diretso lang akong naglakad papunta sa elevator. I pressed the B button para dalhin ako sa basement dahil nandoon ang kotse. Before the elevator door closed, a hand stopped it, causing it to open again.
Nicko was panting as he entered the elevator. "Why are you in a hurry to leave?" tanong niya saka pinindot ang isang button para isara ang elevator.
"I told you I'm hungry."
Ngumiti siya sa akin ng makahulugan. "Are you really? Or you're jealous again."
Napakunot ang noo ko sa kanya. "Hindi no. Why would I be jealous?"
"Exactly. You have nothing to be jealous about Sofia or anyone here. They are my employees that's why I am nice to them. But I love you, not them, my lovely wife."
"Hmp." I looked away from him. I didn't want to admit na nagseselos ako.
Nicko and I had been here in Italy for couple of weeks now. He asked me to come here with him dahil may importante siyang aasikasuhin. He wanted me to be nearby. Saka gusto niyang nakikita ako araw-araw. Wala naman akong ginagawa ngayon kaya sumama ako sa Italy. Kaila was still the one managing my business back home. She was busy working on a project with the Superfoods company. I was glad Ma'am Nadia gave us another chance.
I was on my six months of pregnancy, and my doctor allowed me to travel until my 7th month. Nicko and I agreed that I would give birth in the Philippines than here in Italy. Gusto ko kasi na nandoon din sina Nanay at Kaila kapag nanganak ako. Nicko's parents were fine either way.
During my first few days here in Italy, I just stayed home and waited for Nicko be home. Tinatamad din kasi akong lumabas o pumunta sa kahit saan. It was also difficult for me to go to places lalo na at bumibigat na ang tiyan ko. But few days ago, I didn't know what had gotten into me dahil bigla na lang akong nakaramdam ng selos. I was watching TV at Nicko's parents' mansion then I saw Nicko on the news with Sofia and other beautiful women. I got so jealous that I immediately changed and went to his office. Since then, sumasama na ako sa kanya kapag lalabas siya. It didn't matter where basta sasama ako.
He held my chin to make me face him. It irritated me even more dahil nakangiti pa siya. I felt like he was enjoying this.
"It's not funny, Nicko." I raised my eyebrows. "Kapag pumanget itong mga anak natin, kasalanan mo talaga. Pinapasama mo lagi ang loob ko."
