Chapter 15: Empire Tour

'Wow' was the word that came out of my mouth for countless times since I saw the Ferragni's huge and glamorous empire building.

The building was so tall. Nicko told me that it was comprised of thirty floors. The architectural design was so modern and advanced. The exterior of the building already made me in awe but the moment I stepped inside the building, I was left speechless. This office building was no joke. It was so wide, clean and fancy, both outside and the inside. The walls and the floors had very intricate designs. Their doors were all automatic and made of tinted glass. From the basement to the uppermost floor, the details were consistent. I liked everything I had seen in this building. They put a lot of effort and planning to come up with a very extravagant piece like this.

I could tell that it costs millions of millions of money to build this empire. Nicko told me that this was the main office building of The Ferragni's Group of Companies. It was located in the heart of Italy, where the center of businesses were. Just by knowing that, I knew it costs them a fortune to buy the land. Nicko said that his grandparents bought this land to build their business in here. They kept constructing and renovating it throughout the years.

The look of the building itself was enough proof of how wealthy Nicko's family was. I never imagined it to be like this grand. It just sinked in to me how wealthy the family I married into. I knew already that they were wealthy but seeing the proof with my own eyes, the word wealthy was not even enough to describe what they owned.

I scanned every corner that Nicko and I passed by in the building. Every floor had different departments. Each employees had their own desk with huge monitors. They all had enough space to work on.

"Buongiorno, signore."

Lahat ng madadaanan naming mga tao ay binabati si Nicko. I could see how much they respected him. They were so polite and in return, Nicko would reciprocate their politeness by greeting them back and asking how they were doing. Pansin ko na maganda ang relasyon niya sa mga empleyado niya. I was not surprised since he was a good man.

I was also amazed how properly dressed the staff was. They looked so neat and formal. I also noticed that Nicko had a lot of good looking employees. A lot of them were Italians and some were mixed races.

A tall and beautiful Italian lady approached Nicko when we reached his office floor.

"Ciao, signore," nakangiting bati niya kay Nicko tapos tumingin sa direksyon ko. Her eyes widened and said, "Signora Kate Ferragni?"

Sa pagkakaintindi ko, kinukumpirma niya kung ako nga ang asawa ni Nicko kaya tumango ako sa kanya at sinabing, "Hi."

"Hello, madame. My name is Sofia, Signore Nicko's secretary. It is a pleasure to finally meet you," she said with an Italian accent.

Ngumiti ako sa kanya. "Hi, Sofia. It is nice meeting you also," sagot ko saka tumingin sa suot niya. She was wearing a nice business dress that suits her so well. Her silver heels complimented her long skinny legs. Suddenly, I felt small compared to her. I also felt underdressed.

I faced Nicko, and he gestured for me to follow him. He tapped a card on the sensor, and the door to his office room opened. I followed him inside. He went straight to his desk while I stopped in the middle of his spacious room.

I heard that he was giving instructions to his secretary in Italian. After a few minutes, Sofia nodded and left the room. Nicko opened his laptop after he sat on his chair.

"Please, take a seat. Be comfortable."

I followed what he said. Naupo ako sa upuan na nasa harap ng desk niya.
