I woke up early to go to work. I put my heels on then grabbed my hand carry bag and stepped out of my room.

As I was walking on the stairs, I saw Nicko downstairs and when he felt my presence, he turned around to see me. His lips curved into a smile as he stared at me.

"Good morning. You look so beautiful," he complimented me.

I felt my cheeks blushed. I barely hear Nicko complimenting my physical attributes, so this made me blush. I love how he is being expressive now.

I wanted to compliment how good he looked, but I preferred to keep it to myself. He always looked good. I knew he was aware of that. For sure, he received a lot of compliments already.

"Thank you, Nick."

When I reached the bottom of the stairs, I faced him. He smiled and said, "I am waiting for you, so we can talk."

We didn't get a chance to talk yesterday because he had been making phone calls. It was disappointing, but I tried to be understanding as much as possible. I could not expect him to be a perfect person or husband. Besides, this was already his routine before I came to his life.

"Sure, we can talk during breakfast since we're both going to work."

"I made some phone calls yesterday to free up my schedule for today," he said that made me look at him in surprise. "I am aware that I made you upset yesterday, so I wanted to make it up to you today."

"Why didn't you tell me sooner? I should have canceled my appointments for today."

"That's okay. You don't have to cancel anything. I will just tag along with you. Don't worry, I will make sure that I won't be a problem while you are working. I just want to spend this day with my wife and to see her world."

I smiled. I didn't expect that from Nicko. He canceled all his appointments to spend time with me? I was so touched! And did he call me his wife? I felt like I was floating in the air. I didn't know hearing that from him would make me giddy like a teenager.

"O-okay. If that's what you want."

Nicko and I had breakfast together. We talked about our situation while eating. Sinabi niya na napaisip siya sa sinabi ni Daddy. He told me that working abroad for too long does not work now since he has me now. He said that he would likely stay longer abroad if I would be with him. I was glad to hear that Nicko was being considerate and involved me in his plans. He also mentioned about training some of his trusted people on how to represent the company abroad, so he didn't have to go out of the country a lot if he could just send someone on his behalf.

"Those are big steps, Nick. You don't have to make all those changes. I promise that I will try to understand you. And training people to do what you do will cause more work for you."

"I've decided, Kate. Besides, I don't want to see you sad every time I leave," Nicko said that made me froze.

How thoughtful was this man? He was very sensitive to my feelings, too. He already made a decision based from what happened yesterday. So, all along he was really serious about taking this marriage to another level. For a short time, he made my heart flatter many times. I cleared my throat and tried so hard to hide the giddiness I felt inside.

"K-kain na tayo para makaalis na." I stuttered because deep inside, my heart was still in turmoil.

Nicko and I finished eating breakfast. We rode my car with Kuya Cris as our driver. We were both sitting at the back. I was talking to Nicko from time to time while I read my emails on my phone. When I glanced up, I saw Kuya Cris' reflection on the mirror. He was smiling like he looked so happy. Then our eyes met through the mirror. I laughed a bit and asked, "Why you look so happy, Kuya?"
