Remind
Mas lalong kumunot ang noo ni Chloe. I kept my composure despite the urge to just jump out of the window and bury myself alive before Rade would do it to me first.
Nailing si Chloe, tila ba dismayado o nahihiya na baka may pinaakyat akong babae, kaya nagmamadaling magtungo sa pinto at gusto na ring lumabas. But then, when Rade showed up and Chloe saw his brother, she panicked more.
"K-Kuya..." natataranta niyang tawag at napaatras.
I was a bit relieved that Chloe jumped to the conclusion that Rade was here for her. But to see Rade's expression, who got shocked a bit and mad, I froze.
It was that moment he found me in their living room, and I was fucking making out with his sister! I gulped a bit when Rade looked at me—his eyes were a bit dark, but this time, I know he felt betrayed, or whatever.
"I-It's not what you think! M-Makikipag-usap lang ako," she immediately explained. "I told you about it! W-We just need some privacy!"
I twisted my tongue in my mouth. This is not good, really. Knowing my reputation in his eyes. The mockery I had shown when he first caught me with his sister. At sa pagiging hayok ko... ano pa bang maiisip niya?
But then I was a bit hopeful that the moments we shared were enough that he would not jump to conclusions. I was hopeful he would wait for my explanation first.
"I'll stay at the car. I'll read my notes for a while. Just knock if we're heading home," he said forcefully, which caught me off guard.
Chloe calmed down. Malaki ang ngiti niya at tumatango tango. Isinara niya ulit ang pinto habang napunta sa akin ang tingin ni Rade. There was a glint of hope—mixed with a pang of pain—before he looked away first and walked out as the door finally closed.
Naupo ako sa kama at pinasadahan ng haplos ang buhok ko, hinawakan iyon saglit, ang isang kamay ay itinuko sa likod. I'm speechless, really. I don't know how I should react.
"My brother won't interfere, don't worry. Uh... can we talk more?" si Chloe na ramdam kong desidido.
I would really appreciate it if he just barged in and punched me. I think I need two or more at the moment.
Tiningnan ko si Chloe at tinanguan. "Ano ba 'yon?"
She was a bit nervous, but she walked toward me. I sighed and stood out of bed, walked to the sofa instead, and took my phone out to type a text since I couldn't brush it off. It bugs me for a bit.
Mavric:
Are you fine with this?
"Mavric," tawag ni Chloe.
I lifted my head and looked at her. I tried to keep my attention on her, but I'm really distracted. Tumingin siya sa phone ko, but unlike in the past, she didn't point it out.
"Naririnig ko kasi na...wala ka raw pinopormahan? Some even think we're in a relationship. Wala kang pinopormahan?" Medyo gulat siya.
Who told her? The boys would lie out of fun just to tease us from the girls. Such as adding dramatic things that we can't get over with them, but the truth is, we were already jumping from other girls. It was just out of fun sometimes. But I guess it really creates problems like this. Lagpas na sa biro dahil mabilis na naniniwala ang babae at napapaasa. Napaglalaruan din ang damdamin.
I was still processing my answer, but I really couldn't think of any excuses right now. Wala naman talaga at wala din kasi akong kinwento sa mga boys. They were assuming I could not get over Chloe because I dropped Alessa right away. Ano bang sasabihin ko, na lalake ngayon ang pinagkakainteresan ko?
