One month later

"You know, if I didn't know better, I'd think this was a shotgun wedding," Seungyeon said, much to the displeasure of Jeongyeon and their mother.

"Seungyeon, your appa and I both expect you to be on your best behavior today. Enough with your little comments," HaeSun scolded her eldest.

"Don't you think they're moving too fast? They've barely been engaged a month and now they're getting married."

"Unnie, we've talked about this," Jeongyeon said as she attempted to straighten her tie. "Nayeon and I both want this. Besides, it's a little late to be worrying when my wedding is about to start."

"She's right unnie. You should've said something sooner," Soyeon teased. Jeongyeon was relieved to have her other sister here; she was providing much needed moral support. "Unless you decide to cause trouble when they ask if anyone has objections...."

"Unnie! Don't give her ideas!" Jeongyeon whined. She uselessly pulled at her tie, giving up on it being straight.

"Honestly Jeongyeon, you're old enough to know how to tie your tie properly," her eomma scolded. She swatted Jeongyeon's hands away. "Hold still." HaeSun adjusted the tie swiftly and smiled proudly once she was done. "There. I do hope you can manage from now on."

"Don't worry eomma, Nayeon will take care of it. She's always straightening my ties for me," Jeongyeon remarked offhandedly. She gave herself a final look in the mirror and approved of what she saw. Hopefully Nayeon would feel the same way.

In another room on the opposite side of the wedding hall, the atmosphere wasn't as lighthearted and warm as the one the Yoo women were enjoying. Nayeon and her grandfather were locked in an intense battle of wills, waiting for the other to back down. In Nayeon's hand, her cellphone was clenched tightly, and it was a wonder that she hadn't shattered the device to dozens of pieces after reading what Jihyo had sent her.

"How dare you! Do you have any idea what you've done?" Nayeon glowered with barely controlled rage.

"I know perfectly well what I've done. It was necessary and you and I both know it," Jinyoung said. The man was defiant, donning a superior air that challenged Nayeon's anger. He wouldn't bend so easily under his granddaughter's iron stare; he was almost proud to know she had inherited it from him. "Think of what the press would say if we sat back and gave no explanation. Do you honestly think that your father's absence at your wedding would go unnoticed?"

"You had no right to give a statement!"

"As the head of this family, I have every right!"

Nayeon took a dangerous step forward."The head of the family? Since when do you care about this family! Pretend all you want in front of everyone else, but not in front of me!"
