It was mid morning and they had been strolling through the streets of Bern, searching for some place to eat a light breakfast. Well, Nayeon intended to have a light breakfast anyway; Jeongyeon planned on getting everything that looked or sounded good to her. The young couple hadn't spoken much since waking up.
Jeongyeon jolted away from the inadvertent contact Nayeon had made with her shoulder as they sidestepped an elderly couple passing by on the sidewalk. After the events of last night, she hadn't been able to interact with Nayeon like a normal person, barely being able to look the woman in the eye. Of course, Nayeon seemed entirely unfazed by it.
The older gentleman gave the couple a nod as his (presumably) wife smiled at them warmly before entering into what seemed to be a bakery. The delectable smells of freshly baked bread and coffee wafted out of the building, enticing the young couple to enter and discover what was inside.
"Let's eat here," Nayeon said.
"O-okay," Jeongyeon mumbled. She opened the door for her wife while keeping her eyes on the ground. Nayeon breezed past her into the bakery. The atmosphere of the bakery was downright warm and inviting with light classical music playing softly from somewhere behind the counter. A large display case full of dozens of different breads ran almost the full width of the bakery, causing Jeongyeon to temporarily forget her anxiety as her thoughts turned to food.
"Good morning. What can we get for you Miss?"
One of the workers greeted Nayeon warmly, patiently waiting for their order.
"This is our first time here in Bern. Do you have any suggestions for us?"
The middle aged woman behind the counter eagerly pointed at the menu and began to spout off a whole list of recommendations. Jeongyeon was only able to catch a few words she recognized like "bread" and "butter" which sounded amazing right now. Her empty stomach badly needed food.
"This is a complete breakfast Jeongyeon," Nayeon said as she pointed to a menu item. "It comes with three types of bread, cheese, ham, and other accompaniments."
"That sounds good. I'll have that."
"We'll take one simple breakfast and one full breakfast as well as two cafés."
"Excellent choice Miss. Seat yourselves and we will have it brought to you soon."
Nayeon led them to one of the few unoccupied tables and they sat to wait for their order. Jeongyeon couldn't help but check out her wife while she was preoccupied with her phone. The woman looked absolutely breathtaking in an oversized sweater and jeans. It was the most casual look Jeongyeon had ever seen her wear yet she still looked stunning.
