Jeongyeon had a million questions running through her head but she held her tongue. The moment they had entered Nayeon's car, the vice president of Park-Im had pulled out her phone and began typing furiously. Interrupting her didn't seem like a wise decision to make so Jeongyeon chose to stay quiet. Not that it helped her poor anxious state.
How did she end up in this situation? Well, she knew how she ended up in this situation, it's just......why did her life have to be so damn complicated all the time?
"I can't believe this shit," she mumbled to herself.
"Neither can I, yet here we are Jeongyeon," Nayeon said.
Jeongyeon wanted to open the door and fall out into oncoming traffic, but that would be a terrible way to die. She glanced at Nayeon and noticed the woman had finally put her phone away.
"We'll be arriving shortly Miss Im," Han spoke up from the driver's seat.
"Thank you Han." Nayeon adjusted her blazer then pulled out a hand mirror to check her appearance. "I expect you to act accordingly Miss Yoo. Do as I say and play along."
"Or what?" Jeongyeon was in no position to push her limits, but she was fed up with being ordered around like a servant. Nayeon ran her hand along the inside of Jeongyeon's thigh then abruptly sunk her nails into the fabric of her trousers.
"Don't test me Jeongyeon," Nayeon said lowly. "My patience is already running thin." The young woman grit her teeth, trying to not hiss in pain. She breathed a sigh of relief when Nayeon let go of her.
Fucking bitch.
The car soon came to a stop and Han got out to open the door for Nayeon. Jeongyeon didn't wait around for him; she stepped out on her own side. Her eyes took in the familiar building. Why were they here at Seoul National University Hospital? Was Nayeon's father sick?
"Come along Miss Yoo," Nayeon called her. She was already walking to the entrance. Jeongyeon quickly followed after her to catch up. They took the elevator to the ninth floor where private rooms were located. It was like a whole other world compared to the busy lobby where patients and medical staff alike were rushing to and fro. The ninth floor was eerily calm.
Nayeon walked briskly down the hallway, navigating the corridors easily while Jeongyeon followed along behind her. Only a handful of staff passed them by. Every single one acknowledged Nayeon in some way, whether it was a bow or a nod of their head. Clearly she was here often enough to be on familiar terms with the medical staff.
They rounded a corner and Nayeon finally slowed her rapid pace. A strikingly beautiful woman was waiting for them outside of a hospital room. There was something very familiar about her that Jeongyeon couldn't put her finger on. Had they met before? It was possible after all. She could be one of her family's many business associates or perhaps one of her mother's acquaintances.
"Eomma."
Nayeon hugged the woman and Jeongyeon had to keep herself from openly gawking at them.
Eomma??? No way was this Nayeon's mom. How the hell did she look so young?!
