17. Jealous

Enid's POV:

The first class of the day was fencing, I met up with Yoko and we both decided to be each other's partners. I felt a bit bad for leaving Weds out like that, but I guess she partnered up with Casey, the new student I'm supposed to go on a date with today. I watched them from a distance, as Coach Vlad walked over to them "En garde!" He yelled out, as both Wednesday and Casey put their masks on. I stared, as Wednesday made the first move by attempting to stab his thigh, Casey quickly realized her plan and stepped back, attempting to hit her upper arm, I watched in amazement, as she freely did a cartwheel, avoiding the hit. The fight somewhat reminded me of the first time she was fencing with Bianca. Casey moved forward and tried to hit her shoulder, yet she moved her sword right in time, dodging his attack

The psychic used her strength to jump over his back, landing on her knees, which seemed painful and I couldn't help but hiss. The normie tried to hit her while she's in a vulnerable state, but she understood his plan and quickly stood up, hitting him in the back, therefore, winning the match. "The point goes to Wednesday!" Coach Vlad yelled, as he walked over to another pair of students, watching them fight. I smiled a bit after Wednesday's win, I felt proud of her, but then felt a sense of dread wash over me, as I saw Casey looking rather sad and disappointed. I walked over to him and put my hand on his shoulder "Hey, you did great out there!" I cheered him on, as he flashed a tiny smile "Thanks, Enid" in the corner of my eye, I could see Wednesday glaring at the both of us, I didn't understand or know why she did that, but she just did. I decided to pay no attention to it and started chatting with Casey

He had both brains and beauty, I could already feel myself falling for him, I just couldn't help it. He was so handsome and cute "Quick question, are we still on for today? The date?" He asked, as I smiled and nodded "Yes, of course!" I say, flashing another smile, he smiled back "I gotta go, otherwise the coach will start yelling at me, talk later?" I nodded again "Sure, bye then!" I wave bye to him and walk back over to Yoko "Someone's got a little more than a crush.." She raises a brow, nudging my arm playfully "Oh, shut up" I roll my eyes, as I stare at him from a distance, his curls swaying beautifully by the sides of his head "Isn't he just so dreamy.." I mumble to myself, sighing softly, Yoko snickered "Told ya you had a crush, a big, fat crush" I roll my eyes again, ignoring her mocking comment.

Something else caught my attention, Wednesday. She was walking towards me, I smiled and skipped over to her "Hiii, Wednesday, you did great!" "You told the same thing to Casey." I raise a brow "Were you spying on me? Just kidding" I chuckle, as I stare at her "Why so negative? You won!" I reply cheerfully, her expression seemed to be more dull than usual "Come on, cheer up" I nudge her arm and smile once again, I realize she's starting to glare at me again, what's wrong with her today? "Are you okay? Why're looking at me so angrily today?" I ask, my tone sounding a lot less cheerful than before "I'm okay, you're just delusional." I frown at her words, what was her problem? Why was she acting so rude? I guess Yoko noticed my annoyed expression, since she walked over to me, putting a hand on my shoulder "You good?" She asks, I nod "Yeah, Wednesday's acting weird"

"Ooh, maybe she's jealous" The vampire smirks, wiggling her brows, my head immediately turns to her direction "WHAT?!" I yell, looking beyond shocked "Maybe she just likes you and is jealous that you're spending time with Casey, don't you think?" I feel my face heat up at her response, as I laugh nervously "N-No, she doesn't like me, I really don't think so.. she's straight, plus we're polar opposites" "You know what they say... Opposites attract?" I yet again, blush at her comment and hide my face in my hands "Shut up, that's not true" "Enid!" I hear someone call my name, as I quickly turn around to see Casey with a smile on his face "Coach Vlad let me take a break, so I thought I'd come and talk to you" I let out a nervous chuckle "I see.. Sure, we.. we could talk?" I stutter, as he lets out a soft laugh "What's making you so nervous?" I blush slightly at his words "I-It's nothing, ignore it. I don't know why I'm nervous, you know.."

"Your friend.. or whoever she is keeps looking at me weirdly, it's like she wants to kill me, know anything about that?" I shake my head "No, she keeps looking at me like that too, I think she's just in a bad mood" I reply, as he nods "Oh, okay, does she do that often?" I found it a little weird that he's asking about Wednesday again "Uh.. not to me, but to other people, yes" "I see, what do you have to do for her to trust you?" I frowned at his words, something wasn't right here, why is he asking such a specific question? "Um.. I don't know." His expression changed a bit "Tell me." He commanded "I really don't know, sorry?" He rolled his eyes "Whatever, let's meet at 6:30 at your dorm, I'll come to pick you up" He then walked away, what's up with him? He was so sweet just a minute ago and now he's acting all pissed and angry. I shrugged it off and turned back to Yoko "What?" She asks, noticing my uneasy expression "Nothing, it's just that he's acting a bit weird.."

"What if he's jealous now? You know, Wednesday keeps staring at you, he might think she's trying to steal you away from him" She winks and nudges my arm, as I shake my head and laugh "I doubt that" "We better start dueling, otherwise Coach Vlad will yell at us" I nod and we get into position to fence.
