Our morality always attracts atrociousness.
It's always been like this, the infatuation of some people to destroy a life or kill a innocent life.
Aria stared at ginger as he ate his food as if never got any, letting out a sigh she got up from the ground and took a side bag and left the apartment.
She couldn't sleep whole night, last night events keep on flashing in front of her eyes, making her agitate. She was worried about him, his injuries seemed serious.
Did he treat his wounds?
Before she could think further she realised she already reached the cafe.
Sighing again she entered and saw Liya cleaning the floor.
Aria didn't tell anything about last night to Liya, she seemed really sad when she was taking Thomas with her, she loved him but at the same time hated him. They had their own story, which she didn't want to know, so she decided not to trouble her.
"Hey....." She waved, Liya who was lost in her thoughts, looked at her and smiled in return.
Frowning Aria asked, "what happened?".
"Nothing, just thinking about something" Aria nodded her head, looking suspiciously at her. "Anyways, I'll clean the floors and you manage the counter"
Nodding again, Aria went into the staff room.
Soon enough the whole cafe was filled with customers.
------------------------------------------
The smell of alcohol and ropes of smoke was all over the whole room, the window in the living was opened a little for oxygen was everything Nathaniel needed. His mind was in peace.
His one hand held a cigarette which was the last one he had, as he cannot afford to buy another one. His whole salary was finished way before the payment day, the cigarette was on the verge of finishing but he still smoked it until his hands could feel the burn.
His other hand held a bottle of alcohol whose name he hardly remembered.
Rum? Maybe beer?
After finishing the last bit of the cigarette, Nathaniel threw it somewhere around the room and drank the remaining liquor and threw it somewhere.
He got up stumbling his way towards the bathroom, he looked at himself in the mirror. His bruises which were still fresh and not yet treated made him anger at his own self.
His lips were busted with some blood on it, his right eye had bruises on it with his left side of face little bit swollen.
Loser. Can't even protect her from those bastards. What a man I am.
Nathaniel chuckled at himself, as he poured some antiseptic on the cotton. This was his chance where they could be friends but he ruined everything.
At least she is safe.
But he wanted to save her, not somebody else, he got angry when those guards came and saved her and all he did was to lay on the ground defeated. He wanted to save her so that they could get close. But what a loser he was, he thought.
He sighed, irritated by his thoughts. He could hardly balance himself, still he wanted to clean himself and be a little human for her.
Suddenly his eyes fell upon the due date on the antiseptic bottle. He scoffed when it was already expired.
What a way to start the day.
Throwing the bottle in the dustbin, he made his way back to the room getting dressed to go out.
-----------------------------------------
It was four last thirty. And he didn't showed came.
Aria felt sad as she waited for him, it was the first time in the past eight months where he didn't come.
She wanted to thank him for helping her. Aria kept telling herself that he needed rest but, she was so used of seeing him everyday that one day without him made her feel apart of her was lost.
"Ari?" Liya called her. She was thankful for the foundation she wore that covered the bruise on her cheek.
She is sure Liya would have blamed herself for it.
"He didn't came today...." She said. Aria gave her a small smile. Liya knew she was going to talk to him today, and, seeing her sad made her sad as well.
"It's okay, he may have other things to do".
Liya gave her a small nod and left her alone.
As soon as she left, Aria let out a a sigh and looked out towards the busy streets.
-------------------------------------
Nathaniel smoked the cigarette which he found in his coat as he waited for her shift to end.
Today he decided not to go to the cafe. Why? Simple, today he got enough balls to ask her to be his friend. Just friend.
He scoffed at those words. Nathaniel knew he definitely didn't want her to be his just friend.
He wanted to be more than that. He wanted to kiss those lips until both of them ran out of breath , he wanted her to smile at him whenever they met. Just like she smile at everyone.
He wanted her care for him. He wanted to make her happy.
-----------------------------------------
Finally he is going to talk to her.
