Aria stared at the white ceiling blankly as the needle pierced her skin. She didn't feel any pain.

Time passed by slowly, hours felt like days. It was killing her. She just wanted to get out of this bed, this place as soon as possible.

For some people hospitals are tragedy.

Aria is some of those.

The room door opened and Laura entered with a gentle smile on her face.

Aria looked at her, feeling her eyes wet. It feels like ages since she last saw her, she has always been that missing mother figure in life. She missed the warmth she has, the kind of one which makes you feel safe and home.

Aria wants that, she wants to go home.

She watched as she came closer the once smile turned into a frown as tears streamed down her face making Aria sob as well.

"Aria..." She whispered with love.

Aria cried in her arms, hugging her tightly, her grip on her was firm, Laura hugged her back with the same desperation her heart ached hearing her cries.

Aria hugged her as if she'd vanished the moment she broke the hug.

She wished to be the naive girl who was sheltered by her.

Being with her life felt perfect with no worries or pain.

No matter what, a child can never leave the shadow of her mother.

After crying in each other's embrace, Laura broke the hug and cupped Aria's cheek and kissed her forehead gently, pouring all the love she has for her making Aria sniffle.

It felt good to be loved.

"You know I am here right..." She said softly, "My baby...you're so strong...stronger than anyone." She wiped the tears which fell from Aria's eyes.

Aria's red eyes and face reminded Laura of Aria's childhood. How she cried when someone would bully her, how she would find Laura in the kitchen and would hug her tightly and cry.

But as time passed by Aria stopped coming to her in the kitchen she stopped crying in front of her and by the time Laura tried to understand her Aria turned eighteen and soon was about to leave the orphanage.

Soon the baby in her arms wanted to spread her wings and taste the freedom with her own hands, Laura was happy with it. She was happy how strong Aria had become.

Strong, independent, hard working and most importantly happy.

But the Aria who is in front of her is the Aria who cried whenever someone spoke ill to her. Who always thought of asking too much is something she doesn't deserve.

"I want to...t-to go home, Laura." She whispered with sadness dripping from her voice.

Laura sobbed immediately, nodding her head, "Yes...yes let's go home baby... let's go home." She replied and embraced her again.

---------------

Aria watched Laura moving around the room taking her belongings she brought during her stay in the hospital.

Laura told her she woke up after three weeks. It didn't feel like one.

Laura also told her that Nathaniel was injured as well but he woke up after three days but due to injuries on his leg he has his right leg bandaged, he has to keep the bandage till it heals.

Aria wondered if he came to meet her in these three weeks, wondering how he is doing right now.

"Everything done." Aria looked up at Laura who stood in front of her, with hands on her hips looking down at the duffle bag situated on the bed near her leg.

Aria stared at the eye bags under Laura's eyes, tiredness visible in her eyes.

The doctor still hasn't told them if they can leave or not but Laura has sent a request for leave. She just wished them to agree, these four walls are making her sick.

There was a knock on the door.

Laura went and opened it.

The doctor came inside, sending a smile towards Aria.

At first Aria was scared of him, whenever he came it felt like she wanted to hide away. But Laura made her realize he's a friendly person. It took time but was worth it.

But it doesn't mean she's comfortable talking with him. Whenever he comes for a visit, Aria would always be on edge.

She couldn't help it. She felt pathetic because of it.

"Ms. Arden, how are you feeling now?" He asks, the smile not leaving his face.

"I'm good."

Laura translated her words to him who listened to her keenly. Aria looked down at the tag on his coat.

Benjamin Smith.

"It's good to hear you're doing well, most of your injuries are healed but they still need a lot of time to heal completely." He said to Laura. Aria looked down at her fingers, suddenly finding them interesting.

Aria didn't listen to them much and looked out of the window.

She thought of him. She always did.

She wondered where he was. Why didn't he come and meet her?

She thought of them together.

Are they together? She wondered.

Will they be together?

She wondered.

-----------

Aria watched herself in the mirror.

She looked ugly with all those bruises on her face.

The eye bags, the light marks on her face, her once bright face was now pale as white. She lost a lot of weight which made her just skin and bones now.

She felt ugly. I am ugly.

Her eyes watered but she stopped those tears from falling. She didn't want to cry. It felt tiring to cry now.

No wonder he didn't want to come to meet me.

He doesn't want me anymore.

I am ugly now, I am used.

Aria's heart hurts just thinking about him now. She couldn't stop herself from crying, everything felt unbearable, everything felt like it was meant to hurt her.

Everyone felt like they were meant to hurt her. He hurt her.

Aria didn't stop the tears that fell even though she did, they didn't stop falling down.

She felt like she was falling inside a deep hole full of darkness all alone.

Everything was finished.

There was nothing left.
