Nathaniel slammed the glass on the table angrily, calling the waiter for another drink.
He wants to get lost, he doesn't want to feel the pain, the guilt for a little while and alcohol makes him forget those.
He felt lost. He doesn't know where to start, where to go and search for her.
It's already been a few days since she went missing and no one is doing anything. The police weren't trying their best, it felt like they were waiting for some clue without searching for it.
The first thing he did after the cops went, he went to her apartment and asked the neighbors about her. Knowing him as her boyfriend they told him that they didn't see her getting out much, she minded her own business and never disturbed anyone.
They knew nothing about her.
As time passed by Nathaniel felt like he was going crazy, he was anxious about everything, his mind started to imagine things he shouldn't.
No one knows where she went, the last place she went was to some supermarket and after that she vanished like she never existed.
He went to talk to Liya, only for her to throw it in his face that it was all his fault. He thanked her for saying it out loud.
He drank till he felt like drowning, he drank till he felt nothing but numbness.
Maybe it has been since they fell apart.
It was not the day she told him it was over, Nathaniel knows it. Everything fell apart the day he chose to drown instead of being with her.
They were over the day when she started seeing him being his father, the person he hates the most.
The ones you hate occupy your mind the most.
You allow them to occupy it.
Everything comes with your choice. You choose it.
When you're not in the position to choose, you get numb. You stop yourself from going further. You stop yourself from getting more lost than you already are.
Nathaniel had a choice. And he chose himself like a coward. He had time to think and he chose to waste it.
Time passed by, but he stayed.
Everything felt blurry to him. He doesn't remember when he was thrown out of the club.
He didn't feel the pain of falling down. He didn't feel hurt.
"Hey man, come on I wanted to drink more. Can't you see I need it badly. I promise I will drink a little." He slurred, tumbling down on the ground. No one listened, it made him angry.
He got up, moving his way towards the empty road.
"ARIA!!!!!" He screamed looking at the empty sky.
"Where are you!!!!" He whispered as he felt tears streaming down his face. His face turned red due to the cold night.
He felt cold. But not because of the night.
"Please come back...."
Suddenly a car hit him, making him fall down.
He didn't feel any pain as he laid on the ground.
He looked at the sky as if searching for her.
He couldn't understand what the man was saying to him, the noise of the siren felt deaf to his ears.
Nathaniel slowly closed his eyes, feeling peaceful after a long time.
He wanted to close his eyes forever.
