Aria slowly opened her eyes, her sight greetings with Laura who was busy packing their belongings.

Her eyes were hurting due to all the crying she did, her lips patched dry and her throat felt dry as well.

But nothing seemed more hurtful than watching him go.

No. She didn't leave him, he left her.

He left her.

The thought alone made her want to cry all over again.

Nothing seemed real now, nothing seemed to have a meaning now. Everything felt lifeless, dull, numb.

Maybe I deserve this.

It's always been like this back in the orphanage when one parent would decide to adopt her she would go all happy and ecstatic but later when they would start making reasons on how some of their family members didn't find the idea of adoption appealing or the mother would finally become pregnant or sometimes parents after finding out that she's mute find another child more their ideal.

It was always like this, so Aria stopped being all happy when some parents would choose her as their daughter. She would watch how every child around her found their home, their safehouse except her.

Soon she stopped going when Laura used to call every child when some parents would come for adoption. She knew no one would like her. No one wanted her, she knew this a long time ago.

When she would, after a lot of struggle, find happiness, God would take that source of happiness away from her.

Every time she cherishes the things she loves, God would take that thing away from her in the most painful way.

Back in the days during her childhood, she never thought her not having a voice would be the reason for every bad thing in her life.

As she turned to her teenager she started seeing the harsh reality of life, girls around her age would make fun of her, bully her by locking her inside the locker room or sometimes pour food on her head and giggle like a cunning witch.

Boys would throw paper balls at her during class or make sexual remarks on her.

Her school life made her insecure, scared, isolated girl she never imagined herself to be. She once was a girl full of happiness, life and adventure.

When the orphanage head told her that she can't study further Aria was more than relieved. She didn't have to go through everything again like she did in her school.

Nathaniel slowly but gently brought that once bright not so shy girl out; it was one of the reasons why she fell for him in the first place.

He made everything bright and happy for her.

He made everything look so full of life.

He brought the Aria which was dying inside her heart.

Sometimes one gentle push from someone makes you start pushing yourself more.

Nathaniel made her want to be better, made her want to show the real her.

"-Aria!" Aria looked up at Laura who was calling her out.

"I was asking, are you hungry my dear? The doctor said you'll be discharged by afternoon till then eat something? Hm?" She smiled.

Aria slowly sat up and said, "I don't want anything. Just leave me alone."

She didn't wait for her reply and looked out of the window.

She felt her stare but she ignored her.
