Iris's P.O.V
Work this evening has been such a drag. It's felt like it would never end since I clocked in. Maybe that's because I'm looking forward to what's to come tonight. It was almost time for me to leave when one of my coworkers told me to come to the back. I followed them back there to this little room that we have, and everyone inside was gathered around. As soon as we entered the room, everyone shouted "We'll miss you!" The whole room was decorated with balloons and streamers. I noticed there was a cake on the table with the words 'We'll miss you!' written on it surrounded by colorful flowers as well.
"Aw, thank you guys so much. This is so sweet." I said.
"We just wanted to give you a little something before you go." my coworker Devon said.
"Well, I really appreciate it." I said, smiling.
"Don't just stand there, get you a piece!" My manager, Maureen said.
"Okay." I said while grabbing a plate.
I wasn't really hungry but I decided to eat a small piece of it so I didn't seem rude. I guess I would need something on my stomach before tonight anyway.
I got me a very small piece of cake and went to go sit down at one of the tables. I started eating when I seen someone set their plate down on the table next to me. It was Cole.
"Hey, Cole." I said with a bite of cake in my mouth.
"You gonna miss us losers?" He asked, taking a bite of his cake.
"Of course I am, and you guys aren't losers." I said rolling my eyes at him. He just laughed and kept eating his cake. I didn't want to leave on bad terms with Cole either since I turned him down that day.
"Look, I hope you're not mad or anything at me because of what I said when you asked me out. I really just don't wanna hurt you." I started. "But, I'd love it if we could stay friends and keep in touch."
Cole smiled at me.
"I would love that." He said, still eating his cake.
"Good." I simply replied. We ate our cakes together with my final moments as an employee at Oscars Steakhouse. As soon as I clocked out after eating my cake, I was officially no longer an employee. I can't say that I'll miss working here. I'll miss the people that I've grown close with, no doubt. But, I hated being a waitress. Yeah, there's been highlight-able moments but it's not something I truly love.
I had already ordered my Uber and they was waiting outside for me. I sent a quick text to Lia to let her know that I was getting ready to leave. After that, I quickly got in, headed to my apartment.

"We're here." My Uber driver, Tony said.
"Thank you!" I said, quickly hopping out. I seen Lia and Jason was already here, waiting in her car. I headed towards her and they both got out. Lia was wearing a spaghetti strap, skin tight black dress with black heels. Jason was wearing tan skinny jeans and a black button up shirt with his chest exposed. The whole matching couple thing was adorable.
"Hey girllll!" Lia said holding up a bottle of Crown Royale.
"I swear you know me like the back of your hand." I hugged her and grabbed the bottle, opening it and taking a sip.
"Damn girl, you're trying to get fucked up tonight aren't you?" She said with her hands on her hips.
"Of course. I haven't been drunk, drunk in like forever." I said taking another sip.
"Well don't be a hog, pass that shit!" Lia said, taking the bottle from my hand. I laughed at her and looked towards Jason.
"You gonna get you some?" I pointed towards the bottle and he shook his head.
"That stuffs gross, I'll just stick to my vodka." He said, holding up a bottle of Grey Goose.
"Fancy, but ew." I said making a face.
He just shrugged his shoulders and took a drink.
We all headed up the stairs to my apartment and went inside.
