Iris's P.O.V
My very old 2005 Honda Accord was nothing compared to Brendon's almost brand new Mercedes Benz. It rode so smoothly, almost like I was floating. Definitely something that I was not use to.
The drive to Evel Pie wasn't long at all. I parallel parked in front of the restaurant and got out of the car, locking it behind me. I walked up to the door and opened it, letting the bell go off that hung atop the door.
A man walked out from the back of the kitchen and greeted me as I walked up to the counter. "Hey! Welcome to Evel Pie. What can I get started for you?" The man asked. "Hi! Can I get the whole pepperoni pizza and the deez knots?" I laughed. The man smiled at me while he put in my order. "Of course. Can I get you anything else?" He asked. "That'll be all." I said while getting out my wallet. "Your total comes to 48 dollars and 56 cents." He said. I handed him a fifty dollar bill and told him to just keep the change. "Thank you. It'll be ready in about 15 minutes." He said before walking to the back again.
I walked over to a table and sat down, bringing my phone out of my pocket to mindlessly scroll until the food was done.
As I was scrolling through Twitter, a call from Lia popped up on my phone. I hadn't even realized that I haven't talked to her since I got back. Everything has been so crazy with the trip, the unexpected Ian sighting, and work.
"Lia! I'm so sorry I haven't gotten in touch with you. It's been hectic recently." I said into the phone. "Girl, trust me, I understand. Getting everything ready for Donatella and her show coming up has been insane. I feel like death." She sighed. "Anyway, I was calling to see if that boss of yours is going to let you come to the show on Friday." "Yeah! I talked to him about it, he said he would let me have off that day." I told her. "Yay!! I'm so excited. You get a plus one as well, so if he wants to come, he can." She said. "Oh awesome, yeah I'll see if he wants to." "So, how was Miami?" She asked. "It was great! Julian took us to his nightclub and I think we all had a great time. Julian accepted our offer on an expansion." I told her. "I'm so happy for you! That's awesome." She replied.
As Lia continued talking to me about her and Jason's recent problems, I couldn't help but to feel like I was being watched. Taking a quick glance around me, I couldn't see anyone looking at me or even in my direction. It's probably just my anxiety.
My order was called out and I walked up to the counter to retrieve it. Since I was still on the phone with Lia, I mouthed to the man a 'Thank you." and walked to the door. "Where are you?" She asked me. "I'm just picking up dinner for me and my dad." I replied. "Oh, well, I'll let you go then. Call me soon though." She said. "Of course." I said while placing the pizza in the passenger seat. "Alright girl, love you." Lia said. "Love you too."
