Iris's P.O.V
The rising sun shone through the cracks of the blinds that hung on my window. I was thankful to not have any nightmares last night. I guess with Brendon by my side, it helped. As soon as I was awake enough, I remembered that I forgot to set my alarm for work this morning. I quickly grabbed my phone from my nightstand and checked the time, it was only seven o' clock.
I looked to the other side of my bed, admiring the sleeping Brendon for a minute. Slowly, I got out of bed, making sure not to disturb him and let him get as much sleep as he could. He works so hard. I've thought about how we haven't gotten a chance to have our one day together to do anything besides work. We'll have to do that soon.
My feet carried me to the bathroom to do my daily morning routine. After I brushed my teeth and fixed my hair enough to where it looked decent, I went back into my bedroom to see Brendon still asleep. Maybe I can make a nice breakfast for him like he did for me.
Carefully, I opened the door, only making it squeak slightly. I quickly looked over to make sure I didn't wake him. He rustled a little bit and then went still again. I pushed my body out into the living room and closed to door back quietly.
I went over into the kitchen and got a pot of coffee started first. Then, I opened my fridge to see the options I had. Sausage links, eggs, yogurt, and toast I decided would be alright.
Before I started making breakfast, I made my cup of coffee and went into the living room to grab my laptop from my suitcase. I was almost positive that I would have an assignment from my professor by now.
I placed my laptop right next to my cup of coffee on the counter and went over to my stove. I placed a large and small pan next to each other and prepared to cook everything.
Once everything had started to cook, I went over to my laptop and opened it up, checking my account for any new assignments. My suspicions were confirmed when I saw a new assignment waiting to be completed. He wanted us to read through a book and give a review on it. These were the easiest for me. I loved reading, so I usually get through them fast.
I read while I sipped on my coffee while also finishing up the last of the food. I made our plates and sat them on the bar. As soon as I took my seat, I heard my bedroom door open and out walked Brendon, still half way asleep.
"Good morning." He said walking over to me, giving me a kiss on the cheek. I noticed he was wearing his glasses again. I love it when he wears them.
"Good morning." I said with a smile. "I made breakfast."
"I smelt it when I woke up. It looks delicious." He said as he sat down.Brendon yawned and rubbed his eyes to help him wake up more. I took a bite out of a sausage link and continued reading the book my professor had sent me. Brendon started drinking his coffee and looked over at me.
"What are you doing?" He asked, taking a bite of his eggs.
"Oh, just an assignment. My professor wants me to read a book and review it." I said while glancing at him.
"Oh? What book?" He asked.
"Gulliver's Travels." I replied.
"Never heard of that one."
"It's not too bad so far." I said. "How'd you sleep?"
"Amazing. Every time I've slept with you, I sleep so soundly." He said smiling at me.
I gave him a smile back and gave him a quick kiss.
"I do too." I replied with the same smile on my face.
