Iris's P.O.V
Lia, Brendon, and I collectively agreed to eat at a place called Freedom Beat. It had all day breakfast and live music, which was a win-win in my opinion. Breakfast always seemed to be my favorite. My mom and I use to get up extra early to listen to music and make breakfast for my dad. It'll always be a core memory of mine that I love.
Brendon and I pulled onto Fremont street and into a small parking area across from the restaurant. Shortly after we parked, Lia came in and parked a couple spaces over from us.
Before Brendon and I hopped out of the car, he started unbuttoning his shirt to take it off.
"I don't think now is the time for that." I said to him jokingly.
He smiled and replied.
"As much as I would love to take you to the backseat, I know now isn't the time." He winked.
He finished unbuttoning his shirt and flung it off revealing a black t-shirt underneath.
"You're just ready for whatever, huh?" I asked.
"You have no idea." He smiled. We both got out and met Lia in the middle of the parking lot.
"God, I feel like I could eat a horse." Lia exhaled.
"Yeah, I'm pretty hungry too. I haven't ate since breakfast." I replied. "And yet, here I am, about to eat breakfast again." I laughed.
"Breakfast is always a good choice." Brendon shrugged.
"Gotta agree with Mr. Boss man." Lia pointed. We laughed as we walked to the entrance. The closer we got the more you could hear the live music that came from inside. The lit up sign that was above the restaurant named the artists performing. Tyler Collins and Sam Foster.
It was loud and crowded as soon as we walked in, it was almost suffocating. A woman who looked overwhelmed and frantic came up to us with a smile on her face regardless.
"Hi! Would you like to be seated at the stage or is anywhere fine?" The waitress asked.
"It'd be great if we could sit in the stage area. But, if not then anywhere is fine." Lia replied.
"Let me just look real quick." The waitress smiled and went to her podium and quickly returned.
"We just had a table open up a row back from the stage." She said.
"Perfect." Lia replied. The waitress led us through to a room where different colored lights danced across the walls. Music blared throughout, probably drowning out everyone's thoughts within a fifteen foot radius.
We all sat down and the woman handed us the basics, napkins, utensils, and straws.
"What can I get you all to drink?" She asked.
"I don't know about you guys but I want some alcohol. I'll take a strawberry margarita." Lia said happily.
I chuckled at my best friend.
"Well, I won't let you drink alone. I'll have a rum and coke." I said to the waitress.
"And for you?" She asked Brendon.
"Just water for me, thanks." He replied
"Alright, I'll go get that for you guys." She finished writing in her little notebook and walked away to get our drinks.
