Simply knowing Taehyung is taken wouldn't have stopped me from setting out to acquire him for myself - but had I known Jennie is the one he's involved with, I'd have definitely kept away.

I'd have never voluntarily put myself in a position where I'd have to see her face again.

The past couple of years, I've worked hard to get over what happened, to move on with my life, but now, with her presence, the haunting memories start to resurface.

It hurts so damn bad, but I force myself to look at her.

She avoids my gaze, fumbling with her phone.

"I-I... I don't know what to say," She whispers.

I swallow a lump in my throat. "Fine, then. I guess I better get going."

She opens her mouth, but I hurry past her before she can say anything else.

When I find Iseul, I tell her I feel sick and that I need to go home. She's immediately worried, but I assure I'll be fine and that there's no need to come with me.

I mentally kick myself over and over the whole ride back home.

What did I get myself into?

The following day, I tell Iseul I'm PMSing so I can hole up in my room and sulk in peace.

I keep up the act for a couple more days before she waltzes inside unannounced to drag me downstairs for my arm checkup.

"Plus," She smirks, as we are trudging down the stairs. "You have a visitor who's dropped in just for you."

After I give her a quizzical look, she sighs loudly, throwing out her arms.

"It's Jimin!"

Now it's my own turn to sigh. "I'm really not in the mood for entertaining anyone, right now."

"Come on," Iseul says, nudging my elbow. "Jimin is..." She trails off thoughtfully. "He's kind of a ladies' man, to be honest. He's been around, broken hearts, stuff like that, but he's not a bad guy - Tae and I have known him since we were little. And he seems to be quite taken with you, I mean, you're you - you have this certain vibe. Who knows, you might just be the one... who can finally tame him..."

I snort, coming to a halt on the landing. "You seem to have a real favorable opinion of the guy. Why don't you go out with him?"

Iseul lets out a surprised laugh. "What? I mean, yeah, he's goodlooking and all, but he's like a brother to me. I haven't thought of him that way since, what, fourth grade!" She grins, looking at me all sly. "But I think you and him would look great together."

Yeah..? 'Cause I think I'd look better next to your brother...

"We'll see," I say, continuing down the stairs.

A few moments later, we've barely stepped into the living room when Jimin practically materializes front of us.

"There you are, my very own Cinderella..." He coos, gently taking my hand in his. "You just upped and left last night, leaving me lost and dysphoric."

"I wasn't feeling too good," I say simply, struggling not to stare. His simple grey sweatshirt and black skinny jeans look far too good on him, and his hair looks so darn delish and lustrous I want to reach up and run my fingers through it.

Geez, Narae.

I carefully school my expression into a bored one, as he, with a charming smile, starts leading me to the couch where Doctor Lee is waiting.
