"Who the fuck is it?" I muttered under my breath, clearly annoyed. I groaned in frustration as the continuous knocking on my door interrupted my sleep. I swung my legs over the side of the bed and sat up, rubbing my eyes.

"Alexander, please" a voice called out urgently from the other side of the door. My irritation evaporated instantly as I recognized the voice.

"Nova" I quickly got up and opened the door. Any irritation I had felt vanished when I saw her standing there, tears streaming down her face.

She threw herself into my arms, hugging me tightly. My heart raced as I held her, trying to comfort her. That's when I noticed he's here too. My arms instinctively wrapped around them both, and I began to rub her back, hoping to soothe her tears.

"Stella, why are you crying?" I asked gently, pulling back slightly to look at her. Her voice was shaky as she answered-

"A-Alexander! Ba-Baby is sick. His tem-temperature is so high." She choked on her words, crying out in one breath. It took me a moment to process what she was saying, but when I did, a surge of panic washed over me.

"What?" I yelled, the urgency and fear clear in my voice. I quickly placed my hand on the child's forehead, feeling the intense heat radiating from his small body.

"This can't be happening." I murmured to myself, my mind racing.

"Please, let's go to the hospital." She cried out again, her desperation tearing at my heart.

"Shhh, stop crying." I said softly, trying to stay calm for her sake. I hurried back into my room to grab my phone. As we descended the stairs, I quickly dialed Andre's number and he picked up almost immediately.

"What happened?" I heard his voice both over the phone and echoing from the living room where he was sitting.

"Andre, take out my car, fast." I said urgently, cutting him off before he could ask why. "Fast" I repeated, my tone leaving no room for questions.

He sprang into action, heading outside to get the car ready. I turned back to Nova, wrapping one arm around her shoulders.

Her eyes were still filled with tears as she looked up at me, her distress palpable. I gently wiped her tears away and guided her out of the house.

By the time we reached the car, the child was awake and crying as well. I quickly settled them in the back seat, making sure they were secure.

I was about to take the driver's seat, but Andre stopped me, insisting on driving himself. Reluctantly, I climbed into the passenger seat beside Nova.

"Stop crying, both of you." I yelled, my own fear and frustration spilling over. Both of them stopped crying, looking at me with wide, startled eyes.

I rubbed my forehead, trying to keep my own emotions in check. I took off my coat and wrapped it around the baby, trying to offer some comfort. She looked at me, shocked by the gesture.
