I actually had banana bread today lol
September 17th:
-Lisa's pov-
The wild night out with Elias resulted in a terrible hangover. I finally started feeling like a normal human being again on Sunday. I got up around 9 a.m. and prepared my usual breakfast, porridge.
Since the weather was nice, I decided to take a leisurely walk around my neighborhood to get some steps in. Initially, I planned on running, but I lacked the motivation.
I stopped by the farmers market, open on Sundays, to buy some vegetables for the soup I planned to make later. In my household, Sundays are strictly dedicated to making soups and cakes.
When I got home, I started baking banana bread since I had some ripe bananas to use up. The aroma filled my entire apartment. While the bread was in the oven, I quickly whipped up a carrot soup for later. I turned on music and danced in my kitchen, enjoying my little solo party.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang, catching me off guard as I wasn't expecting anyone.
"Hello?" I said through the intercom system.
I recognized the voice. It was my mum's. "Hello, Lisa. Surprise, it's us."
I let them in and hurriedly went to my bedroom to discreetly put away my vibrator that was sitting on my nightstand. A girl has her needs; don't judge me.
I opened the door and saw my parents standing there with smiles.
'What are you guys doing here? I just baked banana bread. Do you want to come in and have a slice?" I offered.
They smiled at me, but something in their expressions was off and confused me.
"Can I have a slice too?" I heard a familiar voice say. My parents stepped aside, and there stood Billie, holding a bouquet of flowers.
What the actual fuck? I stood there, speechless.
She looked at me with a regretful expression.
Oh hell no
"Hi Lisa, I know you're mad at me, but I..."
"I'm not even mad anymore," I stopped her before she could continue saying anything.
"Okay, we'll go for a walk, Pete," my mother said, giving me a comforting smile while pulling my dad's wrist. "At least listen to what she has to say, honey," she said before kissing my cheek.
"How can you take her side? Are y'all kidding me?" I spat at my parents.
"Can we talk inside?" Billie asked, still standing in the doorway.
"So you need my parents as escorts now?" I replied sternly.
"Well, I didn't know where you lived, and none of my texts and messages went through. The only thing I could remember was your parents' address. Here, these are for you," she said, handing me the flowers.
"You think you can just show up at my place with a bouquet and expect everything to be fine again?" I said, refusing to take the flowers.
"Look, please let me explain, okay? I let you explain when you messed up in Portugal, too."
"This is a little different, don't you think?"
"What do you have to lose?"
"My time."
"I didn't fly here for 15 hours and drive for 4 hours for you to not talk with me."
"Fine," I said, annoyed, stepping aside to let her in.
