Y/N sat in the cold jail cell. He held his head in his hands as he contemplated how to get out of this mess. Paxton was standing next to the cell talking to him.
Paxton: You know, you almost had us convinced that you were going to change your ways. They were really rooting for you. It's gonna break their hearts.
Y/N turned his head and looked at Paxton. He held up his hand and flipped off the officer. Soon, Paxton's partner walked over to the cell and addressed Y/N.
Gale: You've got a visitor.
Y/N: Who?
Gale: Your lawyer.
Y/N: Great.
Y/N sighed as he got up. If this was anything like last time, his lawyer would give him limited advice and then make bank, throwing the Langs into even more financial debt. However, as Y/N was escorted to one of the rooms, a thought occurred to him. He hadn't called his lawyer. How did he know he was arrested?
Y/N was led into one of the side rooms with all the blinds closed. The officer pushed him in and then shut the door. Y/N looked over at the other man in the room sitting at the table. It was not his lawyer. Instead, it was an old man with white hair and a gray goatee. He was wearing a nice suit and round glasses.
Hank: I told you I'd be in touch, Y/N. I'm starting to think that you prefer the inside of a jail cell.
Y/N recognized the man's voice as he spoke.
Y/N: You're the guy who was talking over the helmet.
Hank: It seems the only way I could contact you without you running off was to have you arrested. Sit down.
Y/N sat down in the chair across from the old man. He looked around the room and noticed something on the camera monitoring the room. Something was covering the lens and it was constantly moving. Were those little bugs? The young man brought his attention back towards the man in front of him.
Y/N: Sir, I'm sorry I stole the suit. I don't even want to know why you have it.
Hank: Maybe Paxton was right about you. The moment things get hard, you turn right back to crime.
Y/N hung his head low. The old man had a point.
Hank: The way I see it, you have a choice. You can either spend the rest of your life in prison, or go back to your cell and await further instructions.
Y/N: I'm sorry. I don't understand.
Hank: No, I don't expect you to. But you don't have many options, and quite frankly, neither do I. Why do you think I let you steal that suit in the first place?
Y/N: What?
Hank: Second chances don't come around all that much. So, next time you think you might see one, I suggest you take a real close look at it.
Y/N was letting everything the old man said sink in. Before he could reply, the man got up and walked out of the room. What the hell just happened?
At the Lang residence, Scott was tucking his daughter into bed. Cassie still held the ugly rabbit toy Y/N got her. Scott looked at her and smiled.
Scott: Are you sure you don't want a different toy?
Cassie: No, I love this one.
Scott: So do I. Well, get some sleep, peanut. I love you.
