: Cat's out of the bagSummary:

This chapter is all about flooding emotions. It's also about opening up slowly. How will Annabeth get away from her father's accusations?

Notes:

This is a reminder to lower your expectations, this story was not made with the intention to be perfectly coherent, but rather an attempt at writing a fanfiction. You might not like the "reasoning" or the "drama" and that is completely fine. I hope you still find it enjoyable and thank you for sticking through.

PS: I forgot to add a sentence in the last chapter, sorry, it slipped. It's small don't worry...PLS DON'T HATE ME!

Chapter Text

A tear. She had cried for him. Flooding inside and out, her mind was a rampaging ocean. Bared and cold, the blonde felt her walls shudder to the ground. "Uh..." Annabeth couldn't find the words to express just how awkward this situation was becoming. Her father knew about Percy. He had caught her getting back home. He had seen her, and he was still looking. Their brunch was probably laying cold on the kitchen counter, long forgotten by his enquiry, that and the tears drops streaming down her face.

"Is he your boyfriend?" Henry asked in an untamed manner, turning to her crumbling façade.

Henry Chase was a businessman, the type to always be three moves in advance. He never lost control, and never showed emotions. Much like Annabeth, his heart was never shown. He had been buried it a long time ago. Piercing through his polar glare, the Ice princess skated into the hallway entrance. Had he noticed her pained look? Had her father read into her heartbroken eyes? Annabeth felt her pride blasted through and over the door. Barely capable of speaking, she managed to utter a word. "No" A knot stuck to her throat, tightening and freeze her last shed of hope. Dared speak and she would melt on the ground to his disappointed eyes. Her father had never been too strict on her, for unknown reason this time, he was outraged. To show a crack in his polished façade made the princess shiver in fear.

The blonde's mind couldn't shake the change of temperatures of the sunny morning that had drastically turned into this icy afternoon. How could a day begin so sweet and end so sourly? Wanting to crawl back in her bed and shut the world out, her eyes begged for rescue. Blurry and glossy, she shut them close before another drop of salt sliced her cheek. It seemed her whole body was learning a new way of feeling, the blonde wasn't used to flooding.

"Well...?" Annabeth shook the drops away with her hand, copying his attitude. Her nose was leaking, why did this have to go down now? Couldn't she have a little break? Her body didn't listen to her claims anymore. It wanted peace and quiet, it wanted warmth and care.

Regretting his presence already, she prepared for yet another battle. "What I do with a guy has nothing to do with you." She stated with a crack in her voice, walking towards the stairs trying to get away, to find solace in the loneliness of her room. She wanted out, not his judgmental stare, nor his deceitful words.

"You are right, but inviting guys like this" His hands gestured away. "It isn't what I taught you" Henry's voice fractured more walls. Annabeth hadn't expected to become such an embarrassment to him. It had taken all of a few minutes for years of work to crumble away in pieces. No grades, no first prizes, no acknowledgements would be enough to wipe this state clean. He had made up his mind from the looks of it. Turning to his state, his grey eyes showed the thing Annabeth had been scared of. He was disappointed. Not a look of pity, but one of disgrace, a simple word of four letters engraved on her forehead. An uppercase A on her chest. A trail of lovers in her shadows. To him, she was a slut for inviting a guy stay over.
