Even a week into dating, Percy was still in disbelief.

Right now, Annabeth was lying on his bed, reading a book and he just couldn't stop staring. Seeing her in his personal space, spread out across where he slept every night, made his heart race.

Her brows were furrowed slightly, her beautiful grey eyes scanning the pages, and he was just in awe.

They were having a chill day today, opting to curl up in his room and hang out while they did their own thing. She brought some 'light summer' reading in preparation for her semester in the fall, and by 'light' he meant a 600-hundred-page textbook. He wasn't feeling nearly as motivated as she was.

She had been initially hesitant about coming over because his mom had asked that he work on his college applications over the weekend. He promised Annabeth that he wouldn't get distracted by her presence, so she finally agreed, but here he was, thoroughly distracted.

It couldn't be helped. She was normally so put together when they were out in public but here, in private, she didn't feel the need to get quite as dressed up.

She didn't choose her gorgeous outfits to impress people or get their attention, but she did use them almost as a barrier between herself and the rest of the world. They were like a shield, to keep people out, to keep them from getting a read on her and she had even admitted as much to him before, so it made his chest warm knowing that she was comfortable enough with him that she didn't feel a need for them. He knew very few others had seen her like this and it meant a lot to him that she trusted him, she felt safe around him, she felt secure enough to take off her defensive armor. It was an absolute privilege to see her like this.

It's not like he was complaining about the clothes either. He loved her in anything really, and this outfit was just as good as any other in his opinion. She was wearing loose cotton tennis shorts that showed off her impossibly long legs and a faded crop top that was truly testing his self-control, paired with cozy socks bunched up around her ankles. It was hot.

She kicked her heels back and forth behind her, her chest pressed into the mattress and pushing her boobs together. Her fingers drummed along the spine of the book as she focussed on the words in front of her and he took a long moment to watch them tap rhythmically, not at all thinking about having those fingers on him instead.

And God, her lips, they were something else. She was nibbling on them as she concentrated, and it was so fucking hard to focus when she did that. He just wanted to walk up to her, take her face in his hands and squish her soft cheeks together, forcing those same lips into an adorable pout so that he could kiss them. He wished he could spend every second kissing her lips, kneading them softly with his own, feeling the velvet smoothness glide across his skin.

Technically, that was something he could do now, and he was still trying to wrap his head around that fact. The casual intimacy, the permission to finally touch her in the way that he had been dreaming about basically ever since he met her, it made him a little dizzy. During their agreement, he never got to kiss her just for the sake of it, it always led to more, it was always with the intention of sex to follow. But now, he could kiss her just because he wanted to, no need for excuses, he just liked her lips pressed to his and that was enough.

The day that Annabeth had shown up to tell him that she chose NYU, and she would be staying in New York, was arguably one of the best moments of his young life. After several, well-spent hours fucking on every conceivable surface in his house, they finally sat down to talk. He wasted no time in asking whether they could start dating officially. He may have been a little too eager in that case, but he wanted nothing more than to finally be able to call her his girlfriend. Much to his relief, she agreed, and they were nearly inseparable since then. They were always together, usually in his bedroom, sometimes in hers, or hanging out with their friends.
