From his spot on their bed, Percy could see Annabeth hunched over her laptop at her desk. Their small one bedroom didn't offer the space for a personal office, so she'd taken over a corner of the bedroom while he usually worked at the kitchen table. Her architecture firm had her on some strict deadline for a proposal that needed to be flawless. From what Percy had gathered, she was on a small team of people and was the only one truly pulling her weight.

She was due for a promotion soon, to be sure.

She was also due to stand up, use the bathroom, and eat something. Annabeth sat down the moment she got home at five and barely moved in two hours.

He'd been grading papers in the kitchen and looking over the swim team's upcoming practice schedule when she'd entered their apartment in a huff. She kicked off her heels by the door, not making any attempt to get them on the shoe track, and headed to the bedroom without a word to him. Percy gave up evaluating how effectively freshmen used the dative case and followed his wife into their room.

When she didn't so much as kiss him hello, he knew she was in a unique kind of mood, one where self care and her physical needs were pushed down on the list of priorities, buried under a mound of work.

Annabeth had all but chained herself to the desk. In the moments she'd been alone in the room, she'd already set up her work laptop and had started typing away at something, still dressed in her stiff work clothes.

"Annabeth?" He said, reminding her that he was there.

"Hi," she said, turning her face just a little to give him access to her cheek. He pressed a kiss to it, and once she did, her gaze went back to the computer.

"How was your day?" He asked. He rested his hands on her shoulders and started to rub at the knots around her shoulder blades.

Annabeth leaned back a bit, before reaching under her skirt. She undid the leather strap that held her knife to her thigh, and dropped the blade and sheath on the desk. "Several people are lucky celestial bronze doesn't work on mortals."

Percy licked his lips at the peak of thigh and the ridiculously hot way she'd taken to concealing her blade the last few years.

"Are you going to be working all night?" He asked.

"Hopefully not all night," she said.

Percy just kissed the top of her head as she went right back to typing. He took her knife from the desk and rested it in its usual spot on her bedside table.

Then, he went to her pajama drawer and found a comfy pair of sweats and full panties for her to wear instead of the pencil skirt and thong he'd watched her put on that morning.

"Do you want to get changed?" He asked.

"In a minute," Annabeth said without looking up from her email inbox.

Percy huffed and went to her bedside drawer. He wanted his wife to get promoted, but she was really starting to overwork herself. If he left her to it, she probably wouldn't move until ten p.m when she was starving and exhausted.

Percy was tired of watching her ignore her own needs in favor of hyperfixating on work after hours. But there was an easy solution.

He picked up the little pink toy they kept in her nightstand. It was U shaped and meant to slip inside her and stay there, vibrating inside her and on her clit, but only when someone used the remote. The remote was in Percy's bedside drawer.
