Gen steers her horse closer to mine, filling in the space that Zariya left, and turning to me with a confused look.
"That was so random," she mumbles, "but honestly, I'm not really that surprised by her anymore."
I quietly laugh, "neither am I, not after this morning at least."
She laughs as well, "are you alright after this morning?"
"Yes, I'm completely fine," I give her a grateful smile back, showing my teeth, convincingly.

Out of the corner of my eye, I notice someone pointing back at us. Gen and I simultaneously look forward just as Zariya turns her head around, looking at us, with Jean already looking back. I lift one of my hands from the reins and give a small wave, awkwardly grinning at them as my heart drops. Oh no, I should've kept my mouth shut.
They both turn around together, before Jean swings his head back around, rolls his eyes, and nudges Zariya with his elbow. I hunch down into my shoulders, as if I could mould myself into my horse's back, and disappear out of sight completely. If only, for one day, I could stop embarrassing myself. I could just be like every other person here, living on alongside my problems and not letting them take over me, just stop being such an emotional bastard. Maybe then people would see more worth in me, not that they really should. I mean, who would want someone like me around, just to become an obstacle in the path? Maybe it'd be better if I just wasn't here.

"Genevieve, Rosette," someone calls our names behind us, making me perk up and turn my head around curiously.
Armin sits in the carriage a bit behind us, leaning over the side to get our attention, for a reason I do not know. I pull on Status' reins a little to get him to slow down and ride alongside the carriage, while Gen does the same, but switches over to my right. Mikasa sits bolt upright, looking at us out of the corner of her eye, while Eren is lost in his own world.
"Is everything alright?" I ask him, bending down to get closer.
He looks down nervously at the ground moving beneath the carriage, before back up at us, "why is Zariya up there with Jean and Jacob? I saw them looking back this way a couple of times, do either of you know what's going on?"
My breath catches in my throat, what on earth am I supposed to tell Armin? Or maybe I just stall, or Gen could answer, considering she also doesn't know what's going on.
"Uh-" I start, my eyes straying from his.
"We don't have a clue either," Gen chimes in, "but it's all fine, don't worry. Why do you ask?"
The last part of what she said sounds like she knows the answer, but just wants to force it out of Armin. I furrow my brows, confused on why she needs to know, and why it sounds like she does know.
His eyes widen, "oh- I mean, I'm not worried," he fidgets with his hands in some sort of panic, "not that I should be! Zariya and I are just friends and I was just wondering if... I don't know why I even need to know, because I don't-"
"You should probably just go and take that for an answer," Mikasa cuts in, "because he might implode if he keeps going."
Armin goes a light shade of pink as he looks, embarrassed, at Mikasa, who doesn't move a muscle to look back at him. Gen begins to cackle at him, while I smile sympathetically, poor Armin, he's so embarrassed now.
Gen keeps laughing at him uncontrollably as Armin squirms uncomfortably in his seat, and I take this as a cue to move away. I sit up straighter and guide Status faster, and closer to Gen's, who responds in turn and falls in line with my horse. I push her away from the carriage and further up in front of it again as she slowly begins to regain her composure, wiping her eyes occasionally from laughing so hard. I roll my eyes and smile at her as she deep breathes, guiding herself with her shoulders that rise and fall in time with her chest.
"YOU'RE THE PROBLEM!" Someone yells loudly, making us snap out heads up.
Zariya rages to Jean and Jacob for some reason, throwing her hands around at them. Even though she is quite far ahead, she can surprisingly still yell loud enough that even we can hear her from here. Jean bends down and says something to her, looking angry, or maybe scared, before Zariya retaliates with another loud yet incoherent comment.
I breathe out slowly through puffed-out cheeks, looking down at Status' dark mane, I am so, very, dead. With all three of them.
