Man from the Stairs.

I roll out of bed. Falling onto the floor. I groan as I pull my hair out of my face.

Why do I keep lying to myself? Just one more chapter huh? Yeah right. I stayed up the whole night finishing that one book just for it to have a trashy ending.

I glance at the time as I get up off the floor. I blink roughly as I look at the sunlight pouring in from my window. I guess it's still early. I have time to pass by that coffee shop today.

I hum along to some music playing from my earbuds, smiling. Today seems like a good day.

Yeah, who cares about that trashy ending?

I board the bus, waiting for my stop. As I get off, I glance at my watch just in case. Plenty of time to stop for a coffee, I think I'll even get a muffin, maybe I can even actually eat it at the cafe.

I open the door, the smell of coffee beans roasting immediately hitting me. I breathe it in, as I head to the register, one person in line, in front of me. I smile at how calming it is in here.

After placing my order I walk to a nearby table, close to the door, noticing the decor. It looks cottage-like, but modern at the same time. Neutral colored chairs, accentuating the vibrant green coming from the plants surrounding the walls, and hanging in the air. The geometric shaped furniture carrying comfy pillows. A modernized staircase leading to a second floor. The warm, yellow lighting covering everything. This seems so homey.

I have a feeling this won't be the last time I come by here. I mean unless their coffee's bad.

I give a laugh at the thought as I keep looking around. My eyes landing on the staircase as I see a sudden figure walking down the stairs. My eyes slowly widen, my mouth slightly agape as I get a better view at the man coming down.

His dark eyes, shadowed as the light hasn't hit his face completely yet. His mid-length hair was in a half up-do, the rest of it cascading, weaving back and forth as he walked down looking tired. I watched as he hit the bottom of the stairs, noticing how tall he was. I'd say he was the same height as Gojo. At this point the warm yellow lighting hit his face completely illuminating slim purple eyes. He wasn't fully dressed in his navy blue business attire, his coat being carried in his arm. But if he had been I knew I wouldn't have been able to keep my eyes off of him.

Even now I could barely look away, the only reason I did was because the waiter had come by with my coffee and muffin. I take both as the waiter walks away. I look up, as the waiter walks until I notice the waiter suddenly stop.

"Good morning boss."

"Good morning." I hear the man from the stairs respond. He walks near where I am, "Good morning." he looks at me with those pretty purple eyes, a stern look on his face as he nods his head, I nod mine back. "Good morning.", I respond softly as he heads out the door, with that stern, cold expression.

I watch as he exits the door near me, taking a right. Getting into a nice car, then driving away. I keep watching as the car drives away, craning my neck until it's completely out of view.

I sigh wistfully as the car he was in completely disappears from eyesight. I sip my coffee slowly as my cheeks burn from that one interaction.

So...he's the boss huh? He must be around here pretty often if that's the case. That's interesting. Wow this coffee is really good. That's interesting.

I look at the staircase as if trying to remember that same moment that just happened a few minutes ago. I do. The way his lips thinned into a small smile when he smelled the coffee. The way he kept himself focused even though he seemed tired. And the way his suit fit him perfectly, enunciating every single muscle he had.

He seemed so...familiar. He reminded me of someone but I can't seem to put my finger on it. As I try to remember where I've seen him before I lose track of time. I gasp as I suddenly realize what time it was. I need to be in the meeting room 4 minutes from now.

Damn it. Not to mention 2 investors will be joining us today. They didn't clarify which but either way I can't be late. Not again. Crap why do I never pay attention?!

I had already finished the last of my muffin so I take the rest of the coffee to go. I rush out, crossing the street to get to my building. As I enter the lobby I see Martha, the receptionist, click her tongue at me.

"Late again?" She teases and I roll my eyes.

"No. Not yet at least." I respond, as I set down my coffee. "Keep this safe, I'll need it later." She laughs as I wave goodbye. I hurry over to the elevator, pressing the silver button roughly so it'll hurry up and get down here. It finally opens up and I rush in pressing button 17. The doors close and I look at my reflection at the mirrors in the elevator, I sigh as I notice how my cheeks still haven't cooled down completely.

The elevator bell rings and I rush out, walking past 1, 2, 3 doors. Finally I slow down and I look at the time, 1 minute late. I cringe at the thought of having to enter. I collect myself taking in a deep breath as I open the door.

I take in the unpleasant expression on my boss's face. I walk in, clutching my bag. I keep my head mostly down, my peripheral vision was limited because of this. I could barely make out a few people as I took my seat, quietly apologizing. I place the documents in front of him.

"Did you bring the copies for everyone?" My boss asks. I nod my head. "Well? Go ahead and start passing them out."

I get up slowly. At this point I want to smack my head against the wall, he wouldn't have made me do this if I was just on time. But no, I had to get wrapped up in my thoughts about that man. I curse myself for getting so distracted by a good-looking man.

I walk around and pass the documents. My co-workers looked at me with sympathy, knowing I hated to do stuff like this. As I reach the end of the table, I notice a bright mop of white hair.

So it is him at this meeting. I keep my head down as I set down the rest of the papers, finally taking my seat once again.

"Okay. Let's get the meeting started then." My boss says to everyone.
