I watched the familiar girl leave, my eyes straying as my body prepared to head upstairs. I stopped moving the moment I saw her smile beautifully along with Yuuji.

I clenched my jacket, and tried my best to focus on something else. Something other than those two leaving. No matter how much I forcibly moved my eyesight to focus on something else it would somehow manage to make its way back to them until they were no longer in my sight.

With them finally out of range I was able to make my way upstairs, into my office. I slump into my chair placing my left arm over my eyes in an attempt to relieve my tiredness, my tired eyes even if only for a few seconds.

I glance at the time realizing it's still early midday. That's fine. I got to spend a while with both of them so I guess I'm rejuvenated again. Relaxed again.

"Come in." I say when I hear a knock on my door.

"Oh hey boss. Here your employees from the other company asked me to pass this onto you."

"Thank you."

"Oh. And..." I glance at Shane, looking up curiously, my eyebrows raised. "Well, you look less tense did you get a massage or something? Actually never mind I shouldn't have said that." Shane said suddenly nervous.

"No, no it's fine. I didn't get a massage. I just...got my daily dose of coffee I guess." I smile remembering the moments that just happened a few minutes ago.

"That's good boss. It's nice to just relax and rejuvenate every now and then." Shane waves as he leaves the room, leaving me and my thoughts alone once again.

I glance at the documents he left on my desk and ignore them wanting to hold onto that moment for a little while longer. That feeling, that moment doesn't stay very long once I remember that twinge of guilt that sometimes comes to bother this cold heart of mine.

(Flashback-9 years ago)

I watched her hair sway back and forth as she skipped happily down the hall. I thought absolutely nothing of it.

Until one day I stood outside, waiting for the rain to calm down. She came out as well, probably just finished with her club or something. She stood out there with me for a few moments. It was your usual cliche. She bent down and reached into her bag after a few minutes of standing in silence. She ended up bringing out a light green raincoat, and put it on. She pulled out a dark red umbrella and handed it to me with a smile. She left quickly waving goodbye.

She waved goodbye to a total stranger.

That day she popped up in my head a few times but each time I disregarded it. I got ready for school and headed out the next day, suddenly stopping when my eyes landed onto that dark red umbrella I had left outside to dry. I sighed and picked it up.

I looked around for her and realized she was in the class right next to mine. I saw her smiling happily just like she did when she skipped down the hallway. I felt a slight smile tug on the corners of my mouth.

That feeling quickly disappeared as soon as I saw who was standing next to her. A guy, I was probably the same height as him, who was laughing alongside her. He had some dark shades on and some bright white hair that contrasted those shades. I watched in disgust as he teased her and she made fun of him. I was about to leave quickly before she noticed me and she shot a look of curiosity.

Without much reason to leave I decided the best thing to do was head in there, give her the umbrella back and never talk to her again.

I headed in there, I gave her the umbrella back and then I left. Or at least I tried to.
