(A/N: Thank you everyone!!! I realized I reached over 1k reads so thank you so much!! 🎉 This one's a little longer and I hope you enjoy it. This and the next chapter don't go in any particular order so read whichever pov you want first although it might affect the way you view the story and how you feel. ⚠️TW: a car crash along with YN's parent's deaths is put in both stories. (It's not described in detail but still felt the need to put warning) Oh and it's my birthday so I'm happy! 🥳 That's all, thank you so much again and enjoy!)
At that moment I paced back and forth. It was a Saturday morning and a week since we had last talked. A week?!
I mean of course, I wanted to give her some space to think since she had just stormed out in the middle of our conversation. I wasn't sure how to deal with how she was feeling. I thought time was all she needed. Apparently not. I mean it's been a whole week. How much longer does one need? Whoever said time heals all was clearly wrong, I mean time has passed.
I scoff out loud. As much as I wanted to keep giving her time, I also wanted to shout that it was all a misunderstanding. That's what I wanted to do. Until Maverick told me the last thing a woman wanted was for a man to shout at her the truth. So I keep pacing.
"Boss. Is this still about the woman?"
"Tch. Don't call her that. She has a name."
"Then is this about-"
"Don't call her by her name. You don't deserve to utter such a beautiful name."
I hear Maverick sigh. What could he possibly be sighing for? I'm the one going through it.
He speaks up again, "Okay then, but is this about her?" He says.
I sigh loudly, "Of course it's about her Maverick. I want to talk to her but you said I shouldn't."
"Boss, I-"
"No Maverick, you're right. I'll give her time."
"But, boss-"
"No, no Maverick. Don't try to console me, that'll just make me want to talk to her more."
"If you'll just let-"
"Seriously Maverick, just-"
"Boss! What I'm trying to say is you should go talk to her now!"
"Huh?" I say, confused. "I thought you said that I should just give it time."
"No, you said that to yourself. I mean sure I said take some time but I meant that for you. You were the one talking about how you were going to shout at her that it was a misunderstanding. I was just telling you to take time since no woman wants to be shouted at." Maverick speaks up.
"Why didn't you say so sooner?"
"I was trying but a certain someone kept interrupting me." He grumbles.
"Of course! I was just exaggerating, I could've been talking to her this whole time." I nod my head and put a finger to my chin in thought. "Well, Maverick? What are you waiting for? Go find her and prepare me a car so I can go speak to her as soon as possible."
"Yes, boss." He says and walks off.
I pace around, staring out my floor to ceiling window. I stare at the buildings wondering where she could possibly be and what I should say once I see her. I turn around and face a nearby mirror.
"Hey, I should've reached out sooner-" No, that doesn't seem right. "Hey, it's been a while-" Still no, I mean why am I pointing out the obvious? "I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I didn't even stay at that party very long. In fact I really didn't even know what the party was for or about."
