(A/N: Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been updating lately. I've been busy with exam season, studying and all that. I'm almost done so I'll get more chapters out soon. Thank you for your patience! Enjoy the chapter!)

I look at the plate before me and smile. The smell wafted through the air, into my nose.

It had taken a while for the food to arrive. Once it finally did, I was not disappointed. "I hope you enjoy the food. This is one of my favorite places to go for a good meal. As I said before, it's all on me so feel free to order more if you'd like."

I nod my head and smile. Seeing the food in front of me, I almost forget the genuine gratitude he had a while ago.

Almost.

The thought replayed in my head as I ate my food. The gratitude itself wasn't a problem just the fact that he seemed ashamed. As if he were guilty of something. A criminal waiting for all the evidence to stack up against him, ultimately proving him guilty.

I push the thought aside. Suguru hasn't done anything to me. Nor would he have any reason to do so. I smile as I eat the dish in front of me. A pasta coated in a delicious sauce.

"Is it to your liking?" I look up at Suguru's words. I swallow the current bite I was chewing before responding to him.

"Yes. It's delicious! Thank you for taking me out on such a...uh..." I pause for a second as I look out the window and notice it's not such a fine day as I had anticipated. I twist my face as I try to finish my sentence, "On a pretty day. The clouds look so pretty, almost ominous." I finally decide to say in an awkward tone, I sheepishly grin as I then proceed to take another bite of the pasta.

I look down at my plate before I hear him laugh only a second later. "Yeah the weathers really pretty. Brings back some nice memories."

"Yeah. Me too! Like as a child I'd play in the puddles with..." I pause remembering before continuing, "with an old friend."

He nods his head before speaking. "Yeah? I remember meeting someone because of the rain. Do you still talk to your old friend?" He asks me faintly, I could barely make out the question.

I think for a moment before responding, "Not as of lately, we're not on the best terms. We aren't as close as we were when we were young." I nod my head continuing to eat the pasta, which had lost a little flavor as I delved into the deeper parts. The sauce probably wasn't mixed in well.

Time passes as we make small talk and give small laughs here and there. Eventually we finish the main dish and order dessert to go. I glance over the menu before ultimately deciding on a cupcake that seemed especially good. Suguru takes a slice of lemon cake to go. I look at the cupcake through the small clear plastic and see a beautiful design. A beautiful coating of frosting, topped with what seems to be the color of gold, along with a brown powder which I assume is the topping of chocolate. I smile and make a mental note to take the cupcake home, take a picture and then eat the cupcake.

"I'll drive us to the park then. Do you have any specific one you want to visit?"

I think for a second, "You know the one near the shore? It's near the famous hotel, the one called Lotus Pond. Down Denver Lane. I think it's about a 4 minute drive from here."

He nods his head and opens my door, he closes it and starts the car. We head the right way as Suguru plays some music. I almost expected a familiar song but instead was faced with R&B. A distinct difference from jazz.

I listen to the music as I hear the passionate singing. I almost feel my emotions swayed before the song is cut short and we arrive at the park. Once the music suddenly stops I feel myself snap out of my thoughts, and forget the lyrics.
