Dim Lighting

I look in the mirror, at the attire I have on. Hair was curled, pinned together with just the right amount of volume and a baby blue bow. A baby blue satin dress that was just above the knees, along with a black blazer draped over my shoulders. Not to mention the matching black heels, does this seem formal?

I mean I don't think he meant black tie formal, just formal. I think this should be fine.

I sigh as I blow my hair out of my face. I just got off work half an hour ago, I kind of wanted to stay home tonight but it feels nice to dress up. I put on a smile as I look at myself once more before noticing Gojo texted me. I grab my bag and head down as fast as I can.

I rush out the building, slowing my pace as I look around for his car. I see him leaning against the hood of his car before he notices me and waves. I slowly approach him as I look him up and down. He's dressed in a nice suit with a nice tie to go along with it. His hair was the usual messy but I could see he put on gel. I looked at his nice brown loafers and a nice silver watch. The brand looked familiar but I couldn't quite place my finger on it. He opens the door for me with that cheeky smile of his.

I return a smile and a giggle. "Why thank you once again sir."

"Anything for the lady." He clears his throat and looks to the side, I glance at what he's looking at and see a bunch of trees. "You look really pretty. The color suits you." He says, those beautiful eyes darting around.

"Oh. Thank you. You look...pretty as well." I say awkwardly, feeling my face flush. He laughs and covers his eyes with the palm of his hand. I notice his cheeks and its slight tint of pink. I watch at the few strands flowing in the wind that weren't gelled down. At that moment my body reacted on its own. I reach up and slowly tug his hand away from his face.

"You shouldn't cover up those beautiful eyes." I mumble without thinking.

He looks at me his eyebrows raised and his eyes slightly widened. He ends up covering his mouth with his other hand instead, attempting to hide his rosy cheeks in the process as well.

"Oh! I'm sorry. I don't know why I did that." I say lowering my hand. But before I completely let go of his hand he pulls mine back.

"Don't be sorry. Please feel free to touch me whoever you want." He says in a dazed voice holding onto my hand. He walks me closer to my side of his black car and opens the door.

I enter the car, and he closes the door. He walks around, still covering half of his face. I feel my cheeks suddenly heat up from his words. As he enters the car I look out the window, shifting my face in an attempt to hide it.

As the car starts I slowly shift my gaze back feeling my cheeks start to cool down. I glance at him and notice his lengthy fingers tapping on the steering wheel as he seems lost in thought. I look at him a few times throughout the drive and as if on auto-pilot we arrive to our destination. He parks and stays seated, still distracted in his mind. I give a smile as I realize this is one of the most serious times I've ever seen him.

I stare at him for a few seconds before his eyes shift and he realizes we're actually here. I giggle as he starts apologizing for getting distracted. He quickly rushes out as I undo my seatbelt, he quickly opens the door on my side. I step out and grab his hand which he graciously gave.

I look up at the restaurant sign and realize we're at an Italian place. I love Italian food. I can already feel my stomach growling as we walk in.

"Reservation for Gojo Satoru." I hear him say.

"Of course sire. Please follow me." I follow behind Gojo as they lead us to the second floor. We sit down and I try my best to make conversation after the interaction we had when we first saw each other earlier. I remember the feel of his hand on mine, the way he looked at me. I couldn't even tell what he was thinking.

"This is a really nice place. I've never been here before, I bet the food tastes great"

"It does, you'll love it. At least I hope you do. It usually gets pretty busy but luckily I was able to get a reservation."

I glance around and notice it's not so busy today. I guess we got lucky, not many people are here today. It's not too noisy.

Soon enough we finish our food and he gets excited once again talking about the jazz club. I feel a bit of relief as I watch him talk about it, finally feeling myself get comfortable once again.

We walk in and i look at the sign, signaling for us to head downstairs. I watch my step as I walk downwards, the light dimmed. I look at the few people there and the piano player. The few lights they had barely shone on anything but it made the mood more relaxed. I look and see some people swaying to the music while others are slow dancing to the rhythm of the piano.

He walks me over and offers a dance, I watch as he orders something to drink for when we're done dancing. He holds out his hand with a small smile, his eyes twinkling even though there's barely any light to reflect them.

We sway slowly as I place my arms around Gojo's shoulders. I could barely reach in my heels but luckily he bent down a little. He holds me by my waist and I smile softly. I can't help but want this moment to last forever. I shift my face to get into a more comfortable position but once I turn I find myself mere centimeters away from his face.

My breath hitches as I look down at his lips, our noses the closest to touching. I can feel his soft breath on my lips as his eyes widen slowly. Mine do too. I feel my arms tighten around his neck, pulling him closer instinctively as his tighten their grip around my waist.

I notice his breath getting faster, more unsteadier in the moment. I watch as his eyes flicker towards my lips just to look me back in the eye rather confused. In that moment an earthquake could have happened and it still wouldn't shake the position we were in. We stopped swaying but our bodies were still incredibly close, I could easily feel his heart thumping. Just as I'm sure he could feel mine. I cringe at the thought knowing my heart is hammering in my chest.

In that moment, it feels like it's been an eternity. It feels as if we've been stuck like this for hours but in reality only 4 piano notes have been played in its entirety.

As my arms accidentally pull him closer, our lips touch. Just the faintest of touches. It felt incredibly light and incredibly warm. My eyes sift from his pink lips, shamefully looking at his eyes. Wondering what type of look he has in them. Before I can fully lift my eyes to his I feel his arm move up my spine, making its way to my hair as he lowers himself even more.

He was holding my hair with such devotion. He was gazing at me with such desire. He was smiling softly with such joy. He was kissing me as if he'd been waiting for years.

As more and more piano notes play, our kiss drags on. It was just two lips on top of each other. I closed my eyes, melting into his embrace. Succumbing to him fully.

As the final notes played we slowly, remorsefully let go of each other. I stared into those eyes that seemed to twinkle even harder, impossibly shining through this dim lighting. I could feel my heart still pounding, even harder than before. It felt as I could die from a heart attack.

Who knew things would end up like this? With the boy. The boy from that fateful day.
