(Little Warning:  Has a bit of miscommunication just to tell you in advance. 😔)

I watched her walk in. As beautiful as ever.

Crap, I shouldn't have come so early. The ice cream has melted a little. She even arrived a little early even though she's usually always late to everything she does.

I didn't know what to say. Luckily I didn't have to say anything first since she spoke.

"Gojo!" I heard her say. I almost turned away from how happy I was to hear her say my name with such excitement. No matter how many times she says it, I can't get used to it.

"Hey!" I wave and get up to pull out her seat, if only I'd been a little faster or seen her sooner than I would have been able to hold open the door for her.

"Thanks" she says, thanking me for the bare minimum. She's so sweet.

"It's nothing." I say, trying my best to feel composed as if I wasn't freaking out since thirty minutes ago. I take my seat across from her and glance at the ice cream. "Sorry. I may have ordered too early I'll go order another one." I say gesturing to the ice cream before quickly heading to the register before she can respond.

I order another ice cream and watch as she stares out the window. I wonder what's going through her mind right now. I sure know what's going through mine.

That kiss, that scene replaying in my head every minute on the minute. I remembered her soft embrace as she pulled me closer. Science claims atoms don't touch but they could never defy me of the experience of her warmth. Her hair was soft that day, I couldn't see her eyes clearly from the dim lighting but I could sense the soft gaze coming from her. She fit perfectly in my arms and she chose me to kiss her. Me. It meant something, I'm sure. As of this moment I still wonder what's going through her mind.

I hear someone clear their throat and notice the new bowl of ice cream placed in front of me. I give a smile to the employee before taking a deep breath and running different scenarios of how our conversation may play out. Different times I may be able to bring it up.

"Hey. It took a while but here you go, although I'm not sure if it's still your favorite. I probably should have asked you first, do you want something different actually?"

"No! No it's fine. It's still my favorite. My favorite hasn't changed for years." She says, seemingly nervous from how rushed she was speaking.

"Oh okay then. I'm glad." I say feeling a sense of relief wash over me. I wait a little while attempting to figure out something to say.

"You must have come early if the ice cream was basically melted by the time I got here. Did you wait long?" She asks me after taking a single spoon of the ice cream looking apologetic.

"No. I...I didn't get here that early, just like a few minutes before you did." I say lying through my teeth, knowing I had gotten here nearly half an hour ago. "It probably melted from the heat." I feel instant regret once I realize the cold air coming onto us, forming the small feeling of goosebumps from the air conditioner. "I mean like the hot air from the door." I say scrambling for a response before shooting a sheepish smile.

She takes another bite of her ice cream and nods her head before returning a grin. "Yeah I mean I guess it is pretty hot outside when you think about it, the door and hot air coming in was directly in your line of sight." She gives a small laugh and I return a chuckle at how she goes along with my silly rambling.

I watch as she smiles happily at eating her ice cream, having a similar smile to the one she gets when she drinks her coffee. I almost didn't realize we had been sitting in silence again until she decided to speak up and talk again.
