Get ready for some cringy angst.

And a long chapter.

Oh, and I'm not doing the others' shopping because it'll just be a bit weird to rewrite a few things. So I decided to tell the whole part of buying gifts for their friends with three people.

Blue reached for a cute cat lamp, smiling as he picked it up and examined it. It was high quality in Blue's eyes, and a blue flower was tucked next to it's right ear. Purple would love this!

He tucked it into his bag, going to the front to check it out. On the way there, the aisle holding plushies could be seen. He immediately stopped, backtracking and making his way there.

"Bingo..." Blue breathed as he picked up a cute pig plushie. Red would love this. It looked just like Reuben. He happily placed the pig next to the lamp in his bag and made his way to the front once again to check out.

He checked out not too soon after, stepping out of the shop completely. He had only gotten two things -- that would be alright. He wanted to take his time anyway. He grabbed his nether wart out, beginning to chew on it happily as he looked around for the next shop he'd go to next.

He was about to walk in the direction of the colorful music store until he heard a baby start to cry. He turned around, trying to catch the source of the noise.

A little girl sat by herself outside the toys' shop, crying silently. Beside her was probably what Blue presumed to be her younger brother, who was also crying -- just louder. Immediately feeling a bit concerned for the two children, Blue walked toward them, crouching down to their height.

The girl looked up at him, sniffing.

"What's wrong..?" Blue asked softly. The girl sniffed. She didn't reply, only making Blue more concerned at the current situation.

Then she pointed at someone behind Blue. Blue turned to look. Through the sea of people walking by him, only one caught his eye.

His blood ran cold.

"What did she do?" Blue whispered to the girl, not taking his eyes off of the woman with the pink dress. The younger brother had stopped crying, sniffing as he looked at his sister, then to Blue, in confusion.

"Yell..." The girl said softly, sniffing. Blue's brow furrowed in slight anger. The crazy lady did what?

Blue turned to the girl, patting her gently on the head. He did the same with the boy. Then he smiled at them softly.

"Where's your parents?" Blue asked them softly. The boy burst out in tears again, alarming Blue.

"Gone." The girl whimpered, also starting to cry. Blue scolded himself mentally for being so careless. The girl looked up at him. "Auntie told us to wait here."

So they lived with their aunt and uncle. At least that wasn't too bad... Actually never mind, not having parents to be with for the rest of your life is already quite bad. Blue looked at the two of them in sympathy but didn't know what to say -- they were young, after all, and wouldn't react to him the same way people around his age would react.

So he came up with an idea to cheer the two up.

"How 'bout I get you two a gift and some ice cream?" Blue said softly. At first he just wanted to get them some ice cream, but when he heard about their parents, he felt that he needed to get them some more.

The girl looked up at him in surprise. The boy, though, just tugged on his sleeve with an eager expression on his face.

Blue, trying hard not to laugh because the boy reminded him so much of Red, just straightened up and left to go buy the things he promised.
