I did this during school :|
Bear with me....barely no description or anything :)
It's okay though. Hope you like.

"Watch out for the branch!"
Second and Purple ducked, their boat passing right under the branch mentioned. Green and Blue followed suit. Yellow had to pull Red down, but they still managed to get under the little obstacle with no trouble.
The group of friends barely had to continue rowing by themselves -- the moving current had enough momentum to push the boats forward along the narrow river they had gotten themselves into. So they were stuck clinging onto the side of the boats they were on and trying to steer it clear from different obstacles they met.
Second stood at the front, gazing out at the rushing water below him. Trees blurred into different colors of green and brown beside him as the boats continued to pick up speed. It was quite dizzying.
There. There was an area where the water was splashing harshly against. Like there was something poking out of the river...
Second immediately stood up, turning around to address his friends in haste.
"Rock! We're going to have to try and squeeze past it!" He yelled out loudly over the rushing tide of water, hoping it'd be enough for the others to hear him.
At the sight of his friends' faces, he knew that they most definitely heard him.
Purple hastily grabbed an oar, rushing to the front. After shoving Second away (he's okay :)), he placed the oar in the harsh water, using all of his strength to move it against the tide.
Slowly, their boat shifted a bit to the right.
Second had grabbed the other oar and rushed behind Purple, doing the same thing. But even with their strength combined, it only shifted the boat to the right slightly. Barely any change was done.
Even with this, the two friends still did their best to steer the boat to the right to avoid the oncoming rock.
Behind them, the other two groups of friends were doing the same.
The rock only came closer...
And closer...
With one big motion, Second's oar caught something in the water. When he pushed off, it propelled his boat forward, bumping against the bank on the right. They were clear.
Second sat back, sighing. But he immediately stood up when he realized that Purple had left. He turned behind him, watching as Purple moved across to Green and Blue's boat to help them.
Getting the notion, Second grabbed his oar once more and moved quickly toward Red and Yellow's boat.
It took a lot of strength, but in the end, Red and Yellow's boat passed by the rock, and the group of friends were finally clear of the potential hazard.
The six settled down, trying to catch their breaths. Red was the first to stand up again, gazing out at the front. Since he was on the last boat, it took a while for him to get a clear view of the very front.
Three paths. The river they were on had split into three different sections.
Second and Purple steered their boat to the one on the very right. Green and Blue steered theirs toward the very left.
Yellow, who wasn't up for any more work, just let his and Reds' boat continue one straightforward.
Three groups of friends, all separated for a different adventure of their own.

Sorry for the very short chapter, but I wanted to keep the next part for the next day. It made more sense that way.
