☁️ ALANNAH ☁️
The news of a bouncing baby boy joining our little family came with great joy from everyone around us, especially Harmony. She was thrilled to hear from both Harry and I that she'd be getting a little baby brother in a matter of just about four months now. She was so happy that she'd be staying the little princess and that she got to hold onto that title for a little while longer, although from what Harry had said at the scan and how he wanted to raise all the babies with me, it did get me thinking that I wasn't at all opposed to the idea of more children with him. Though right now I think we just needed to focus on one thing at a time.
I had finally gone back to work this week after nearly two and a half weeks off on leave to be there by Harry's side as well as keep my stress levels to a minimum. Karmen was more than understanding that I just needed a little time to get myself together and essentially sort my life out whilst Harry was in the ICU and still recovering from a nearly fatal incident, though I had had enough time now to do all of that and I did have a job to do at the end of the day.
The most difficult part of returning back to work was that I didn't get to see Harry as much as I had hoped, there was only about three hours in the day that I could allocate to him as I had to work around Harmony as well as ensuring that I got enough sleep to keep myself going.
I swear it would've been so much easier to just give up and let myself go, but I had a little girl and a baby boy on the way that needed me and if I were to collapse in the corridors yet again, I didn't have Harry on hand to come and save me or to take Harmony out of my hands whilst I rested. I had to be really wise about this. Though unfortunately that did mean cutting down my time with Harry to a few hours in the afternoon after I had picked Harmony up from school, though he didn't seem to mind too much, he was mostly in physiotherapy anyway.
He had started physio the day after I had returned back to work and although he told me he was fine and that he was managing okay, I think it was taking quite a toll on him, one that he would never be proud enough to admit. He was sleeping a lot more than usual and he couldn't quite hide the pain on his face after a session. I knew they had been working him hard, it was their job to do so in order for Harry to return home as soon as possible, but for Harry to come home, he had to push through the pain.
Apparently he had been doing pretty well, despite the pain that he was going through, his physiotherapist seemed to be happy with his progress. Harry had told me that they were mostly focusing on just going through that transition of sitting down to standing up which I think was probably the hardest task of all for him to overcome. He had started to walk just a few steps with aid but I think the pain had become far too much for him and so they had decided to strip his treatment plan right back so he was taking small steps at a time, quite literally. He was focusing on just standing up and remaining standing alone before he even thought about taking more than five steps. It was going to be a long process but he was determined to make it.
