☁️ ALANNAH ☁️
Harry had finally been let out from hospital after twenty nine days stuck inside that concrete building that Harry vowed was 'filled with demons' after his long stay. Harry was ready to get out of there right from about the very first week despite the fact that he wasn't healed nor able to even shift his own weight, he had been more than ready to leave for a long time now.
So when the day finally came, Harry was just radiating pure happiness in the hours before his release and even Harmony had managed to squeeze a sick day out of me, claiming that she coincidentally woke up with such a bad stomach ache that she could hardly even walk. Of course I knew the whole time that this was her little plan just to get out of school for the day so she could be there when Harry arrived home after a month of him being away.
Harmony had found the past month incredibly hard, as we all had, so when she found out the news that Harry would be coming home, I swear her smile was the widest it could possibly stretch and from that moment on, it's all she could talk about. She ended up making about fifty million welcome home cards for Harry as well as a whole damn banner and bunting for me to put up in his home.
Both Harmony and I had spent a few evenings over the past week just shifting a few of our essentials into Harry's home as well as doing our best to make everything comfortable and accessible for Harry once he was to come home. I filled the cupboards with food, per Harry's request to use his card for it all, I even threw a wash on to make sure his bedsheets and some of his clothes were clean and ready for him, all whilst Harmony was busy setting her toys up in Harry's spare bedroom and making the room into her home away from home.
She was a little apprehensive at first about it all and told me that she would rather stay at Harry's house during the day and then go back to our flat to sleep, though I had told her that it just wasn't practical and over the course of the few days it took us both to essentially move into Harry's house, she soon got used to the idea and she became pretty settled on Harry's sofa, curled up with her princess blanket most evenings whilst she watched TV on what she called 'the biggest TV in the whole entire world'. Or she'd be caught running around the garden with her toys, making as much noise as humanly possible, which I'm really not sure Harry's neighbours enjoyed very much.
When the day finally came for Harry to settle back home, he had a whole damn army waiting for him and I think he was actually a little overwhelmed at first, not to mention the fact that he was thoroughly frustrated with himself that he couldn't do simple things like climbing the stairs alone or getting himself some food, or even filling up a cup of water. I think he naturally assumed that going home meant that everything was back to normal, when in reality, it was far from it.
We had all rallied around to support Harry through every moment and even Harmony was cheering him on through his daily exercises. Gemma had cut down her hours so she could be around whilst I was sleeping after work, and then Anne would come and sleep over whilst I was working and even Grace had offered her services and been over to take care of Harmony whilst I was busy with housework and quite literally nursing Harry back to health.
