- Sexual abuse? - Jisoo repeated once more as I stared at her nodding. - Impossible Lisa, no professional mentioned it in the medical records.

- No professional saw the marks on her, did they?

- You know you don't need to see them to notice signs of abuse.

- I know, Jisoo, but listen to me, she treated the disorder itself and not the cause of it, most causes involve bullying and family problems.

- And abuse. - Jisoo added, still staring at me; I wasn't sure if she had accepted the idea. - She's accepted the new medication, but I'm worried that if it doesn't work, she might.

- Try again. - I said, watching Jisoo agree. - It's risky, everything we're doing is risky, testing new drugs and breaking protocols.

- We have professional secrecy, you know. I don't think our method will be criticized by her family, not if it works.

- The medicine you gave her, how is it different from the others?

- Most of the ones she took were sedatives, but as you said, she complained that they kept her alive but sleeping all day. This one does both: it calms her down and raises serotonin levels at the same time. It's an antiepileptic combined with another mood-stabilizing drug.

- What are the chances of them causing an overdose?

- I don't think we need to think about that now, the drugs are under our care while she's still here in hospital.

- The cuts I saw that day looked new, how is she doing it?

- I've banned any item that might be sharp from entering her room, I have no idea what she's using.

- I'm sure they've missed something, but it's really getting in the way of treatment.

- Or not, one day or another she'll have access to these things outside the hospital, the important thing is to get her to control herself.

My cell phone rang and I stared at the screen, looking at an unknown number.

- Hello? - I heard heavy breathing on the other end of the line.

- It's me, Rose. - she spoke with a shaky voice and I got up at the same moment.

- What's wrong? - Jisoo asked worriedly.

- Did something happen? - I asked worriedly.

- I... I guess. - It was hard to understand when I was crying and gasping for breath.

- Where are you? Can you tell me?

- In the bathroom. - I hung up the phone and ran to Jisoo, trying to press the elevator buttons, but they were too far away.

- Damn. - I said, turning around.

- What did she tell you? - Jisoo asked breathlessly, trying to keep up with me.

- I think she tried again. - We hurried up the stairs and passed the waiting room where a few people were sitting.

Finally we arrived at her room, surrounded by worried nurses.

I tried to open the door but it was locked.

- Hi Rose, it's Lisa, can you open the door? - I heard her choke on the other side and I was afraid of what I'd find when I opened it.

- Why was she alone? - Jisoo nervously asked the nurses, who couldn't answer. - Get everyone out of here! - she shouted at them again.

- Open the door Rose. - I heard a noise on the other side, she was dragging herself out? that's what it sounded like.

It took at least a minute before we heard the door being opened, I tried to push but she was stuck, her body was probably on the floor.

I opened it carefully, watching her fall, she was shaking, I laid her face down on the floor and Jisoo took over, she was foaming at the mouth.

Jisoo did some maneuvers.

- Lisa, call Doctor Liam, ask for a stomach pump now, please.

I ran out of the hospital again and didn't take long to find Liam. I went back to the room with him, Jisoo had put her on her side while he tried to get her breathing again.

- What did she take? - I asked without understanding, how had she gotten pills?

- Lisa, look around the floor and see if you can find any pills. - Jisoo picked Rose up and carried her out of the bathroom while I looked around.

Until I found a tablet floating in the toilet, she probably tried to get rid of it but it wouldn't go down, I bumped into an open plastic container spilling on the floor, the lid was near Rose's cell phone, I took it in my hand smelling a strong smell, I think it was probably disinfectant.

I went out of the bathroom, the room was already full of people around her body.

- Clonazepam, and I don't know, probably disinfectant. - I said to Jisoo, who looked at me worriedly.

- We need to go now, guys, one of you tell her family. - Jisoo spoke to the nurses.

I stayed in the room alone, staring at the empty bed and remembering her body on the floor... trembling...

She'd called me before, she'd remembered my number, she'd saved it, if we hadn't rushed?, if she hadn't called?.

The whole thing was hammering away in my mind, leaving me completely speechless. In normal situations, I wouldn't be there, I should have gone out to let Jisoo update his medical records, but I couldn't get out of my seat, so I went back to the bathroom and picked up his cell phone, wiping it on the floor.

I left it on his bed and then left.
