Will's POV

"I am telling you, William. That relationship won't take you anywhere good. You need to cut it off with her."

Then she hung up right after that.

I just lied on my bed, staring at the ceiling.

As you all know, I am not the type to get really mad in situations like this. But Jill's kind of indirectly telling me that dating Laine is a very huge mistake.

It's not.

I'm not breaking up with her. She did nothing wrong in the first place. I hate to say this but I blame Britt for everything. If she didn't enter the scene, none of these would have happened.

And I don't understand why Jill's not getting any of these. I'm just trying to defend Laine. She doesn't deserve the harsh words Britt had told her. I knew I had to do something.

In simpler words, I'm just trying to protect my girlfriend. I love her and I somehow felt responsible of her. I'm not dating her just to say that I have a girlfriend. I'm dating her because, as cheesy as it sounds, I see myself wanting to spend infinity with her by my side.

I know, too young and too early to be thinking of these things. But hey, I'm a teenager. It's normal, I think.

My stomach grumbled in the middle of my thoughts. I'm hungry.

I got up and went to the kitchen. Laine's already there, wating with everyone. I sat on the chair beside Dana.

"...the transformer was hit by Britt's limo!"

"I didn't know it was Britt's, oh my gosh!"

Alex and Cass burst out laughing. They were talking about the power shortage that happened last night.

"How did it go? I mean, what happened after the lights went out?" Laine asked.

"Well, of course everyone freaked out. Good thing the school has a generator. Y'know, kinetic energy to mechanical energy to electrical energy to thermal energy?" Cass smirked. Physics.

"Stop. Please. Gimme a break."

It's cute how Laine hates Science, not Math. I mean, normally, teenagers hate Math.

But my best subject in school is Math so... Yep.

**
"Hey, let me help you with that."

Laine approached me while I wash the dishes we used for breakfast. I smiled at her, "Thanks. I could use a hand," I said. But actually I just want her near me.

Hey, don't judge.

"So, what happened with the talk with Jill?" She asked while wiping the plates I already washed.

"It was fine." Should I let her know?

"Really? Are you sure? She didn't get mad or something?"

"Yep." Let me rephrase that one. Should I let paranoid and overthinker Laine know?

I don't want her bothering herself anymore. Maybe I should just keep it to myself.

Nothing will happen, right?

"What did she say, then?" I finished washing the dishes, so I just turned to her, watching her wipe them one by one.

"At first she was mad, of course. But I got the hang of it." Laine stacked the plates and carefully put them in the dish cabinet. (Or whatever you call that in your homes XD)
