Laine's POV
I was gonna say I like him! Nice timing, Dana! Ugh!
I ended up telling Will that I like Chipotle. Like, what the hell.
I stormed off to the kitchen, and I saw mom and dad there. "Hey mom." I walked to her and kissed her cheek.
I turned to the other people in the kitchen, "Hey dad. Hey Aunt Kristy. Hey Alex. Hey Gabe."
Wait, What?!
"Alex?! You're the same Alex as to whom Gabe was talking about?!" This is shocking, really. Such coincidence.
Gabe, Aunt Kristy and mom chuckled after hearing me. "I guess I am," Alex said with a giddy smile.
"But when-- where-- how did you---"
"We'll tell you later." Gabe said with a laugh. "Guys this is crazy. I never knew I had a connection with IM5 besides Dana," I said.
"And Will." Gabe said, almost laughing.
"Will? Do you like him, Laine?" Alex asked me with a smirk on her face.
"Eew no! Gabe, stop making stories." I can feel the heat rising up to my face, which made Gabe and Alex laugh harder.
"If you say so, Laine. If you say so." Gabe told me while laughing. I glanced at mom and she was giving me a cheeky smile. "Mom, I swear to God---"
"You like Will?" Gabe cut me off, laughing.
"SHUT UP, GABRIEL!" I turned to my mom again, "I swear Will has---"
"Liked you since day one?" Gabe said again, laughing harder. Now, Aunt Kristy, Alex and mom joined him in his joy. I glared at him.
"Dad, you're with me, right?" Dad just raised his eyebrows at me, with a playful smirk on his face, which made Gabe enjoy himself even more.
The other boys seem to hear the noise coming from us (well, particularly from Gabe's laugh) so they decided to join our little conversation in the kitchen.
I was standing in front of the counter, Gabe and Alex sitting side by side on the chairs with mom, dad, and Aunt Kristy, Dana sat on the counter beside where I was standing, and Cole, Dalton, and Will stood behind Alex and Gabe.
"Dana, what brought all five of you here?" my dad asked Dana.
"Well, Laine needed help in her Chemistry that's why we brought Will here, since he's a Chemistry freak." Gabe started laughing silently, again. Does this person ever get tired of laughing?
"Did you learn something from Will, Laine?" Alex asked me.
"Uhh... Yeah. Of course." Are they trying to say that I am that stupid?
"William! Try asking her a question!" Dana said. I nudged him by the waist.
There was a hint of hesitation in Will's face, "Uhm... Uh.. What is uh... The ability of an atom in a compound to attract an electron towards itself?"
"Uhm..." I saw 9 pairs of eyes waiting for my answer. I tried to recall his keywords.

"Wait, uhm, the word 'opposite', is it a positive word or a negative word?" Will asked me.
"Negative, duh!" I said, matter-of-factly.
"Good. Are you familiar with the phrase 'Opposites attract'?"
"Yes, why?"
"Remember that one because Electronegativity," he wrote it on my notebook, "Is the ability of an atom in a compound to attract an electron towards itself."
