GTKY Chapter 24

[THE NEXT MORNING]

Laine's POV

"Good morning."

I fluttered my eyes open and saw Will sitting on the edge of the bed, smiling at me. "Get up, it's 8. Everyone's up."

8 freaking in the morning? No way. "Go away." I turned my back to him, and slammed Olaf on my face.

He laughed, "And Merry Christmas to you too."

Merry... Christmas?

Merry Christmas?!

I perked up, sitting and almost falling on the side of the bed. Fudge. Today is Christmas day.

"It is Christmas, isn't it?"

"It really is, and it's gift giving time! Everyone's already up, we're just waiting for one sleepyhead who spent the night on twitter and slept at 12 am." He smiled widely.

"Oh come on like you don't do that."

"I do, but not on Christmas Eve." He took my hand and pulled me up, "Now get off the bed, let's go!"

I stood up and grabbed a rubber band from my stuff and tied my hair into a loose bun.

I heard shouts and stuff on my way down the stairs. "Finally, the princess is awake!" Dana shouted.

I just glared at him and sat on the couch. Will sat beside me.

Since the all gifts were readily placed under the tree last night, I didn't have to worry about getting mine in Alex and Gabe's room.

"So who's gonna go first?" Alex said.

"I'll go!" Cole raised his hand and walked closer to the tree. He took all of his gifts and placed it in front of him.

He gave something to all of us, but to Cass he just gave an envelope.

"What? Did you get me money in here?" Cass laughed.

"Say what you wanna say, don't come hugging me when you open that envelope." Cole said.

Oh, right. We made this rule last night that we're gonna open our gifts at once.

The process went on, Dana went next, then Alex, then Dalton. Next is Will.

He gave his gifts to everyone, and I'm much surprised that he stopped in front of me with a big smile on his face. He handed me a rectangular thing wrapped in white.

"What's this? I thought Olaf was your Christmas gift."

"It is. Can't I give you another one?"

I took the rectangular thing, and it made this rattling sound as I placed it on top of the other gifts I received. "What's this, a box of chicken pellets?" I joked.

"Wait 'til you see it." He smiled then sat back down.

Tique went next. I know what his gift to Dalton is, because we went shopping together.

After giving everyone her gifts, she nodded at me. "You're next, dude."

I sighed then nodded back. I walked to the tree and gathered the gifts.

I reserved the last one for Will, the box covered in silver wrapper. I knew he'll try to shake it, so I spoke first.

"Take care of it, it's fragile."

Aaaah, I hate how cheesy my gift is.

Cass went next and Gabe was the last. After Cole received Gabe's gift, Alex spoke up.
