GTKY Chapter 1

Laine's POV

"Shut it, Dana. Just focus on the quiz." I looked back on my test paper and continued answering. Gosh, Chemistry kills me!

I felt another poke on my shoulder. "What the hell, Dana!"

He just laughed at me.

I suddenly felt a pair of feet standing in front of me. I slowly lifted up my gaze only to find out Mrs. Jones glaring at me and Dana (which apparently sits on the chair behind me).

"Didn't I just say to never talk to anyone while taking my test? Ms. Green and Mr. Vaughns. Hand me the test paper and proceed outside." I glared at Dana before giving my test paper to the teacher. He did the same thing.

I hurriedly went out of the room so that Dana Vaughns won't get in my way. I hate him for doing that. I suck at Chemistry and now I'm gonna fail because I wasn't able to finish the test. Great. Just great.

I felt a tight grip on my arm. I looked at the person and found Dana. "Way to go, Dana."

"Hey! It's not my fault that you talked to me with a loud voice! I was just asking for some formula and we would not have a problem if you just complied with my request."

The nerve of this guy! "Stop ruining my day, Dana. Shut the hell up and leave me alone." He was appalled by what I said but the hell I care. So much for being a best friend and a classmate. I started walking away from him.

Yep, Dana Vaughns has been my best friend since God-knows-when. His parents and my parents are also really good friends. It just happened that he joined a boyband called IM5 which also happened to become popular so we lost time to bond and talk to each other. Girls just always cling to him and the other four boys like no tomorrow and I just can't get in the way to talk to him so we became distant.

I have met the other boys before, and someone really got my attention. I mean, they're all awesome in a way. Gabe's a really good dancer, Cole's very funny and mature, Dalton is weird in a good way, Dana, my best friend. But the other member really got my attention. Will, he's a really good singer. He's funny and a bit childish sometimes, but that's what makes him cute. I really really like him.

I sat on the bench in front of the cafeteria. Gosh, here I go again. I started thinking about him again.

Somehow, I saw a group of guys at the corner of my eye. They were surrounded by a bunch of girls and they didn't even mind. IM5.

I kind of met Will's gaze and he waved at me. I panicked but I managed to smile and wave back. I can feel the heat rising to my cheeks as I (feel) blush. Ugh, I don't like this feeling.

I mean, yeah, I'm friends with all five of them even before they became this popular, but like what I said, we became distant because these guys were eaten by so much attention.

I was busy thinking about things in the past life when I felt my phone buzzing. Oh, my bestfriend's calling me.

"Hey Cass."

"Hey Laine. D'you wanna go grab lunch with me today? We haven't seen each other for like, 2 hours."

I laughed at her craziness. "You crazy woman. So, I'll meet you at the cafeteria?"

"Kaykay. Uhm.. But is it okay with you if we're gonna sit with Cole and the boys?" Oh right. I forgot that she's dating Cole. Oh well, I guess it won't hurt eating lunch with the guys after a long time, right?

"Sure. I'll meet you there." I hung up.
