Williams III and his patriots continued walking through the other direction of the woods in search of Madeline and Arvid.
"Sir! Sir!" A patriot cried out, running towards the group. Williams and the patriots turned around.
"What is it?" Williams III said to the patriot. "Do you have any information on the whereabouts of the fugitives?"
"Not only that, I also happened to have found out that the Father Wolf lied to us." The patriot said, standing in front of Williams III. "He said they're gonna hide the fugitives in the mountains and fight back if we try to stop them."
"Unspeakable!" Williams cried out. "We have to stop them. They are breaking the law! Let's move out!"
"Yes, sir!" The patriots said, saluting.
Meanwhile...
Madeline and Arvid walked through the dark woods in hopes that they will get to the mountains safely.
"Are we close to the mountains, Madeline?" Arvid asked.
"Not yet, but we should be taking the safest path there." Madeline said. "So far, I haven't seen a single sign of danger."
"That should explain that picture." Arvid said, pointing at a wanted poster featuring both him and Madeline. "The whole nation is probably looking for us by now."
"Calm down, Arvid. We're perfectly safe." Madeline assured. "No one will find us here."
"Madeline, Arvid, you're both coming with me!" A voice yelled from behind. Madeline and Arvid turned around and faced a man in a fancy suit with a white cap, ponytail, and silver mask pointing a rifle at them.
"Who are you?!" Arvid cried in fear. "What do you want with us?!"
"What I want is a rich and handsome reward." The masked man said. "My name is Jeff. And I am here to turn you both in to the authorities."
"Please, sir." Madeline said. "You don't want to do this."
"Nobody told me that Madeline can speak." Jeff said. "And no wolf will tell me what to do. Now, come with me and we won't have any problems."
"Then, I'm sorry I have to do this." Madeline said, turning around. She then kicked dirt into Jeff's eyes.
"Augh!!" Jeff cried.
"Run!" Madeline shouted. She and Arvid took off.
Pow, pow, pow!
Jeff fired his rifle, but he missed. "Damn it!" He said. "I'm coming for both of you sly bastards!"
Madeline and Arvid ran as fast as they could.
"Come on, he's after us!" Arvid cried in fear.
"I'm coming for yooooooooouu!" Jeff shouted, his voice echoing throughout the woods.
"Father hired a bounty hunter?!" Arvid cried. "Is he really that desperate to get us?!"
"Just keep running!" Madeline cried.
"You cannot hide forever!" Jeff's echoing yell filled the woods. Madeline and Arvid continued running through the woods.
"Whoa!" Madeline cried, as she and Arvid stopped at the edge of a cliff. "Oh, goodness, that's a long way down!"
"What are we gonna do now?!" Arvid cried.
Jeff continued running through the woods and stopped to see Madeline and Arvid standing at the edge of the cliff. "It's over, you two!" He yelled, aiming his rifle at them. "Time to come with me!" Arvid and Madeline then jumped off the cliff.
