"Hide!" Father wolf cried out, as he saw a group of armed patriots walking through the trees. The pack hid behind trees, bushes, and inside logs.

"What was that?" The commander asked, stepping out of the trees along with his patriots. The patriots slowly walked around the area with their rifles positioned.

"Did you hear the growling of wolves?" A patriot asked the commander.

"Yes. I heard it." The commander replied. "..............It has to be wolves. Search the area!" The patriots began searching the area, grabbing wolves and placing them in the middle of the area.

Author's note: Although humans aren't allowed to interact with wolves, the authorities are the only ones allowed to interact with them, ONLY if they have too (ex. Tracking down a missing person). Let's continue reading.

"Let us go this instance!" Father wolf shouted. "What is the meaning of this?! Have you no respect for your own rule?!"

"What in the world?!" The commander cried out in shock. "The wolves can speak like a man?!"

"As a matter of fact, we can!" Father wolf snapped. "How could you not know that?! You humans forbid contact with our kind! What is going on?! Why are you here?!"

"We are looking for Arvid Williams Sr., King Ridley Z. Williams' son." The commander explained, still processing what is happening. "He ran off into the forest and he sent us here to track him down." Father wolf began to feel sick to his stomach.

"We.......are here for the same reason as you are!" He cried. "My daughter ran away! We have been tracking her down!" The commander held his hand up, signaling the patriots to lower their rifles.

"Where do you think your daughter is hiding?" He asked sternly. "In a cave? Under a large boulder?"

"We have looked almost every inch of the woods." One of the wolves admitted. "We even stuck our heads in the nearby ponds. She is nowhere to be seen!"

"Has your daughter ran off from the woods?" The commander asked.

"No! Madeline never left the woods!" Father wolf cried. "She would never do something as incompetent as that!"

The name "Madeline" echoed in the commander's head. "Madeline...?!" He asked in shock. "As in Madeline Emerald?!"

Father wolf titled his head in confusion. "Yes." He said, slightly dazed. "But, how do you know my daughter's full name? Are you sure you're not looking for a different Madeline?"

"Her fur is white-colored, is it not?" The commander asked.

"Yes. How do you know?" Father wolf asked.

"A wolf ran past us." The commander explained. "We saw her fur color. And, we recognized her appearance. I knew it had to be Madeline Emerald!"

".....How did you recognize my daughter?!" Father wolf asked in overwhelming shock. "I need answers at once!"

"There is no time to explain!" The commander exclaimed. "We must notify King Williams and find Arvid! He is in danger!" Father wolf shook with fear.

"Commander?" One of the patriots said, as the commander turned around. "There is one place we haven't looked. And, I think I found footprints there."
