Meanwhile...

Madeline rushed through the woods, hoping she isn't too late. Then, she made it to the cave and reunited with Arvid.

"Thank God, you're back..." Arvid winced in pain. "I thought I was gonna die!"

"Listen, Arvid. All I got was some bandages and honey." Madeline said. "But, listen. Honey was used for wound care in the ancient times."

"Oh, I know." Arvid said.

"Wait. You do?" Madeline asked, perplexed.

"Yes, I have done plenty of research on it when I was in slavery." Arvid said. "Guess it is about to pay off."

"That and we will have something small to eat on the go." Madeline said, smiling. "As long as you don't mind getting sticky. Now, come on. Pull up your pant leg." Arvid pulled up his pant leg and revealed his large cut. Madeline poured the honey onto his cut with her mouth and smeared it across Arvid's leg.

"NNNNNNNNGH!!" Arvid grunted in complete pain. "Hurts so much!"

"It's okay, it's almost done." Madeline said, comforting. As she finished applying the honey on Arvid's leg, she wrapped the bandage around his leg.

"All done." Madeline said. "Practically like a baby."

"I'm in my 50s, kid." Arvid said sarcastically, causing Madeline to giggle. "Thank you though."

"No problem, Arvey." Madeline chucked.

"It's Arvid." Arvid said, as he tried to get up.

"Wait, wait." Madeline said, stopping Arvid. "You need to give it a day to go through. So, we're gonna spend the night here."

"All right then." Arvid sighed. "I'm tired anyway. I'm just gonna fall asleep."

"Now???" Madeline asked. "It's still daylight out." Ignoring her, Arvid closed his eyes.

"What else am I going to do when I'm laying down...?" He asked, dozing off. He fell asleep. Madeline rolled her eyes playfully as she too went to sleep.

I'm kinda tired too anyway. She thought, dozing off.

Later...

Madeline slowly woke up. "Hello, Arvid.." She yawned. "How was your.....nap?" She suddenly stared at the commander holding a dagger against Arvid's neck.

"Arvid?!" Madeline cried in horror. "Let him go!!"

"Only if you surrender, young lady." The commander ordered. "Stand down or I will gut your friend."

"You are gonna kill him either way!" Madeline shouted in anger. "Let him go, you sick monster!!"

"I'm sorry, but if you don't give in in 5 seconds," The commander said sternly, "he is going to die a much more savage death. 5, 4..."

"Don't surrender!" Arvid uttered. "I can take this bastard!"

"3, 2-"

"Okay, I surrender!" Madeline cried. "Just please don't hurt him!"

"Excellent work, commander." Williams III said, appearing from behind the commander. "You may let him go now. But, keep your rifles aimed at them."

"Yes, sir." The commander said, releasing Arvid.

"Are you okay, Arvid?" Madeline asked, coming to Arvid, who fell to his knees.

"Yes, I'm okay." Arvid said. He turned around to face his Father. "Father, how could you allow a man to have a weapon on my throat?!"

"You don't know how many rules you have broken along with your friend, son." Williams III said. "You are a disgrace to the family name."

"What rule?!" Madeline cried angrily. "All you are doing is finding an excuse to kill your own kids?! Why!"

"Watch your mouth, young one." Williams III snapped, pointing a pistol at Madeline. "The rule is an important one. We must follow the demands of the rule."

"You're a crazy fucking monster..." Madeline suddenly blurted out. She then suddenly gasped. "I'm sorry!" She cried in horror. "I didn't mean to curse, I swear!" Even Arvid was shocked at what he just heard.

"Come on, let's go." The commander ordered, as some of the patriots grabbed Arvid by the arm and led Madeline out of the cave. They then met with the other patriots as well as the wolves, including Mother Wolf, Father Wolf, and Ben.

"Mother. Father." Madeline said, defeated.

"We're sorry, sweetie." Mother Wolf cried in horror. "We never meant for this to happen..."

"No..." Father Wolf said. "I'M sorry." He suddenly jumped up and attacked Williams III, pushing him to the ground. "Run, you two!" Father Wolf shouted. "Get out of here! Go!"

"Come on, let's go!" Madeline shouted, as she and Arvid dashed off. As the patriots and the commander prepared to shoot, all the other wolves jumped up and attacked them.

"Leave them alone, you brutes!!" Father Wolf growled, as he bit Williams III's neck collar aggressively.

"Get off me, you animal!!" Williams III grunted, struggling. "You are letting those fugitives get away!"

POW, POW, POW!

Sounds of gunshots echoed throughout the woods. Father Wolf looked under his chest. He had been shot. By the commander. All the other patriots happened to have shot the other wolves as well.
