Weird
AN: Omg heyyyyyyyyy... It's been a hot minute. Life has been crazy! I'm in college now! I have big girl classes! I have no time to write! I missed writing! I miss Rini!
CW: Weed
AN: I have never done weed. I have no idea if any of this is accurate.
Ricky only takes one knock to open his front door to reveal his long-time best friend on his front porch. Nini had texted him earlier that evening asking if he was home and if he wanted to hang out. He immediately jumped at the opportunity to have her over.
"Where's your mom?" Nini asked as she walked in, "I didn't see her car."
"Chicago," Ricky replied, closing the front door behind her.
"And your dad?"
"Out with friends watching football."
"Is Big Red planning on coming over?"
"Nope. He's got a double shift at Slices tonight."
"What about EJ?"
"He's at a water polo game, why?"
"Gina?"
"With EJ."
"Carlos?"
"Neens, no one is coming over but you. Why do you want to know?"
"Perfect," Nini said, grabbing Ricky by the hand and leading him upstairs, "I'd rather be alone for this."
Ricky's face turned red as Nini dragged him into his bedroom, his mind wandering from what she could mean by that. Ricky has had a crush on his best friend for almost all of high school, but he was "too much of a pussy" to do anything about it. Big Red's words, not his. Why would Nini want the entire house to be empty? Was it to avoid getting interrupted? Interrupted from what?
Ricky cleared his throat as he saw Nini perch on his bed, kicking her feet in anticipation.
"What?" Ricky asked, nervous yet excited to see what her plans were for the night. He tried his best not to get his hopes up, but Nini had that gorgeous grin of hers, and her eyes were sparkling, so it was hard for him to not think she was getting ready to tell him something that would make his heart skip a million beats per minute.
"Okay," Nini started but soon burst into a fit of giggles, and Ricky couldn't help but laugh along with her. She was irresistible.
"What?" Ricky said through laughter, watching her blush at her words. That got Ricky's hopes up even more.
"So this is something I've been wanting to do for a while," Nini said, regaining her composure, "and I'm glad you were able to hang out tonight because," Nini paused, standing up from the bed and walking over to him. Ricky's breath hitched, hanging on her every word.
Nini slowly pulled something from her pocket and held it between them.
"Altoids?" Ricky was confused. Was this an inside joke he forgot? Some innuendo he hasn't Googled yet?
"They're not Altoids, silly," Nini said, opening the tin to reveal a small handful of gumdrops.
"Candy? Nini, what–"
"It's not candy! It's... special candy." Nini blushed covering her face with her sweater sleeve.
"Holy shit, Neens, are these–" Ricky got cut off by Nini's impish nod.
"Ashlyn gave them to me. I've always wanted to try some, and I figured the best way to do it was with my best friend," Nini said, looking up at him hopefully. Ricky tried to pretend that his being referred to as her best friend didn't sting a little. He looked down at her, and like always, she was irresistible.
