Nothing/Sad n Stuff
AN: I had no ideas for this fic, so this is what y'all get.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, don't worry about it."
"It's obviously not nothing, because you're leaving."
"Ricky, nothing is wrong, I swear."
"Then why are you leaving?"
"I don't know, but I am."
"Nini, seriously, do you want to leave? Stop for just two seconds."
"I don't want to leave."
"And yet you are?"
"I'm sorry."
"Seriously, Nini. What's wrong?"
"Nothing."

What was wrong wasn't nothing. Nini felt it was time to end things. She'd always been taught that nothing good lasts forever, so she needed to end her something good now before it turned into something bad. She believed that if she wasn't hurting, she wasn't living. Life wasn't supposed to be all happy and joyful all the time. She needed to do this.
She was speeding up the inevitable. She knew if she held onto the relationship for any longer, she'd be in so much more pain.
It hurt. Nini couldn't hide from the pain she was experiencing after her split from her long time boyfriend, Ricky. It was better this way, she kept telling herself, she needed to move on to the next chapter of her life. The chapter that didn't have Ricky in it.
Change was good. It wasn't good to always be in a routine. She made the right choice.
She was a fool. Why would she do this to herself? Why did she ruin it all? Why did she think she deserved it? What she and Ricky had was lovely, and she loved him so much that she couldn't breathe. It kept her up at night.
Nini tossed and turned in her childhood bedroom, having moved out of Ricky's apartment after their breakup, unable to sleep. She used to fall asleep so easily when she was with him. He would hold her tightly, run his fingers through her hair, and whisper sweet nothings in her air. She missed it. Why was she even doing this? It had only been two weeks, and she couldn't stay in the new chapter of her life she'd created. She needed to go back.
Sitting upright in the bed, Nini stumbled out the door of her house in nothing but her pajamas and bunny slippers, her purse in hand, and started up her car. She drove the familiar path to his apartment complex, and typed in the gate code like it was second nature. After climbing the three flights of stairs to his apartment, she now stood in front of his door, hand raised and ready to knock.
She hesitated for only a second before knocking softly on his door. It didn't take long for the door to swing open to reveal a tired and disheveled Ricky. It was clear he wasn't taking the break up well either.
Everything that she had been planning to say to him went out the window once she saw him again. She wanted to take the pain away from him, and it hurt to see that she was the reason behind the way he was feeling. She couldn't do this anymore.
"Hey." Nini breathed out.
"Hey... what are you doing here?" Ricky asked, shocked to be seeing her after not speaking for two weeks.
"I just––" she stammered, trying to remember what she came here for. "Here's your shirt I stole." She said, shoving an old worn t-shirt into his hands, forcing him to take back what he once gave her to hold. It was his favorite shirt, but Nini took it since it always smelled like him and kept her warm.
