I Know A Boy
AN: This is short. Just an FYI.
Nini knows a boy.
They always sat together in kindergarten. Nini wasn't sure why he decided to crawl over to her on the carpet on that first day, but she thanked her lucky stars everyday that he did. Ever since then, they've been inseparable. He always finds her, and vice versa.
He likes to laugh, and he's always allowing Nini to join in on his laughter. The two were constantly getting in trouble for not paying attention and whispering to each other when they weren't supposed to. The boy brought out a different side of Nini. She used to be quiet and reserved, but when she was with him, she was vibrant and loud. His brain was a mess, for making her act this way, but she liked it like that. She liked who she was with him.
They were told to complete a paint by numbers activity, and he'd encouraged her to color outside the lines. During music class, instead of playing the same rhythm that had been taught to them, he taught her how to beat to their own time.
Ricky was the boy Nini knew, and she'd know him for the rest of her life.

As they grew up, they only got closer. When not together at school, they were together at each other's houses, or they were out around town with each other. One was rarely without the other.
When they were in the fourth grade, Ricky had given Nini those sticky glow in the dark stars for her ceiling. He had wobbled on Nini's desk chair as he stretched to place them above her bed for her. Once he'd successfully arranged a solar system for her, he turned off the lights so she could see the display.
Nini squealed in delight when she saw how they'd illuminated her room. She ran over to her stereo and played some of their favorite songs. She took his hands and spun around with him underneath the "starry sky". Ricky tried his best to move his feet to the song, but Nini always told him he had two left feet.
The songs ended, and Ricky and Nini were still dancing slowly in silence together. Nini took hold of the moment, and pecked Ricky's lips quickly. Both of them blushed, and Ricky's whole face turned as red as a tomato.
They didn't talk about that moment for a long time, but Nini always remembered that he tasted like the moon.
*****
Ricky's favorite thing to do with Nini was take her to fields filled with flowers. It started when they were younger, when he'd walk with her to some of the community gardens in their neighborhood. Now that they were older, Ricky would pick her up in his car, and they'd drive for miles until they found a new field.
The two of them would lie there for hours, talking about nothing and everything. Important things happened, and insignificant things happened in these fields.
They had their first real kiss at the field near Ricky's grandma's house. Ricky first told Nini that he loved her in the field close to Park City. Nini would tell him all about her new songs she was writing. Ricky would tease her about writing songs about him. They'd stay forever if they could. Their bodies and roses intertwined, picking daisies and placing them in each other's hair.
Sometimes Nini would worry about their future, about what their life together looked like. Ricky would assure her that they were doing fine.
Ricky and Nini were love sick, and this love was so damn magical.
Nini knew a boy, and he was hers.

I wanted to knock this song out of the way since I didn't really have any strong ideas for the possible stories. I figured a few small vignettes were the way to go, and I decided that I wouldn't use any dialogue. This is what you get. I know it's short, but hey! I just posted twice in one day. That's a feat in itself.
