diamonds are made under pressure,
an oyster turns parasites into pearls,
giving us a beautiful treasure.
fire turns sand into glass
of different shapes with a simple twirl.
and what can one find underneath grass?
dirt, bugs, and decay
but also the growth and stirrings
of seeds scattered and astray.
darkness covers them for a while
hiding their slow workings
of beauty that produces smiles.
what seed are you today?
have your roots grown?
or have you become a bouquet?
if not, you are not alone
many seeds grow together,
helping each other find the sun--
no matter the state of the weather.
give yourself space to grow.
beautiful things take time.
and one day, you're gonna glow.
